Start Smart Baseball
This is an organized, introductory baseball program for the first-time player. Parents will interact and learn how to teach their child a variety of baseball skills including throwing, catching, batting, and base running. Each child will receive a glove, ball, koosh balls, and a bat.
Registration Deadline: Wednesday, April 30
Ages: 3-5 yrs.

YOUTH PROGRAMS
Dinky Dunkers
DRIBBLE, PASS, SCORE! Dinky Dunkers is an introductory basketball program for children in kindergarten. Participants will learn the fundamentals and basic rules of the game. Each 60 minute practice will be split into skills/drills and organized scrimmages. Separate leagues will be offered for males and females. Practice times will vary by week.
Volunteer coaches are needed!

Youth Basketball League
This league is designed to teach basketball fundamentals, promote sportsmanship, experience teamwork, and introduce competition to athletes in 1st and 2nd grade. Each 60 minute practice will be split into skills/drills and organized scrimmages. Separate leagues will be offered for males and females. Practice times may vary by week. YOUTH PROGRAMS
“No School Day” STEAM Reptiles
Join Kids Create & Innovators Academy for a day of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, & Mathematics centered around a Reptile theme! We will work with LEGO, Dash, and Dot robots. Guests will transform their robots into reptiles and then learn to program them. Students will also meet a tortoise and bearded dragon, learn about cold blooded creatures, and improve their art skills while completing watercolor & drawing lessons. We'll save plenty of time for playing in the park, snacks, and a show. Your student will have a blast!

“No School Day” Unicorn Art Celebration
No School, No problem. Send your unicorn enthusiast to this magical camp! Students will create a unicorn canvas painting, listen to music, learn to draw unicorns, watch a show with popcorn and M&M's, and play games. Expect your student to have a great time creating a one of a kind masterpiece. They will be so proud!

“Spring Break” Rainbow Goat Art
Join Kids Create for this fun-filled, goat themed art camp! Students will paint, draw, and marble paper. We will spend the day rotating through art lessons, playing at the park, enjoying creative free-choice activities, and even spend time learning about goats and cuddling them. Your child will have a blast at this memorable spring break camp!

Dodgeball
Keep your kids active after school by joining Dodgeball Derivatives! We’ll explore several different ways to play the game of Dodgeball like Artillery, Shipwreck, Minefield, and Last One Standing! These are great games using our specially designed foam dodgeballs.

We’ll bowl, play laser tag, and check out Perfect Games’ giant arcade! Participants will be transported by Parks & Recreation staff. *Please note different age groups when registering.*

Stretch & Strengthen Yoga
ADULT PROGRAMS
Join Angie in this monthly wellness program that will help stretch your tight muscles while improving your strength and mental well-being. Each class will be a unique blend of vinyasa style yoga, core engagement, and stretching where we will move breath to movement to help relax your physical body and leave you mentally ready for the week ahead. This class is perfect for first time yogi’s, high school athletes, worn out moms and dads, or anyone who needs an hour to themselves twice a week. *Drop-in option available for $12 per class.*

Santa’s mailbox will be at City Hall
December 1st -15th. Bring in your letter or picture for Santa, drop it in his mailbox, and we will get them sent to the North Pole! Make sure to include your name and address so Santa can write back!

‘Tis the Season to be Freezin’ Bags Tournament
Need an excuse to brave the cold and get out of the house this winter, then join us for this WARM and DRY indoor bags tournament! This double elimination tournament will consist of a single game to 21 (or more). Due to space, boards will be set up at 24’. Registrants must sign up as a team; individuals will not be taken. Only one member per team needs to register.

Christkindlmarket is a German inspired Christmas market held each December at Principal Park. A variety of European-style foods, products, and activities await visitors of this unique cultural event. Registration includes transportation. Please bring money for your lunch.

Host your next large event at the new community room! This rentable space is located in Polk City’s city hall building (200 S. 4th St.) and is great for wedding receptions, family reunions, graduation parties, and business/group meetings. The community room features 172 chairs, 20 round tables, 20 rectangle tables, a catering kitchen, and restrooms. The City of Polk City works closely with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to provide accessible, quality fishing opportunities in the Polk City community. Two ponds in Polk City’s park system are stocked with bluegill, largemouth bass, and channel catfish. Those ponds are located at Marina Cove Park (430 E. Southside Dr.) and Twelve Oaks Park (1349 Twelve Oaks Dr.). A fishing license is required. Those wishing to buy a fishing license, explore maps, get Iowa fishing regulations and learn more can visit www.iowadnr.gov/fishlocal

SHELTER HOUSE RENTALS
Located at Miller Park (401 Booth St.), the shelter house is perfect for smaller gatherings such as birthday celebrations, graduation parties, and baby/bridal showers. This climate controlled rental space features 48 chairs, 6 tables, full kitchen, and an indoor restroom. Miller Park also includes a play area, tennis/pickleball courts, and an open air shelter.
