Paramount is always sparkling with fun and warmth during the holiday season. With that special time once again upon us, here is a list of our yearly events so you can mark your calendars now. For information on any of the following, please call (562) 220-2121
On Thursday, November 20 our Seniors Thanksgiving Dinner honors the elders of our community with a free day of entertainment, dancing, raffle prizes and a fine meal with all the trimmings. It takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Paramount Park gym.
Big 10th Anniversary Tree Lighting Ceremony
Join your fellow community members to celebrate the City’s 10th Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony on Wednesday, December 3rd at 6:00 p.m.
Taking place, as it does every year, at the Pond on the corner of Jackson St. and Paramount Blvd., the event will feature local church choirs and the Paramount High School Marching Band, other attractions, plenty of refreshments and a festive time for all.
Paramount Park will once again become a winter wonderland filled with 100 tons of snow as Santa Claus comes to town for breakfast on Saturday, December 13th from 8 a.m. till noon. The event will feature a delicious pancake morning meal, request time with ’Ol St. Nick, and a wide expanse of snowy white to play in, whether that’s sliding with a toboggan, tossing a few snowballs or building Frosty the Snowman. There will also be crafts, prize giveaways, entertainment and a train ride. Admission for the breakfast is $4.
As it has for nearly 40 years, The Santa Express Christmas Train will bring the holiday spirit to the kids of Paramount right in their own neighborhoods this season. From December 8th through 11th, the engine, gingerbread-house boxcar, sleigh car and caboose will make stops throughout the City with Santa and his team of elves dispersing apples, candy canes and good cheer. It’s a wonderful outing that has delighted generations of Paramount children.
