This summer, the City will present “Smarts, Arts & Healthy Hearts,” a celebration of Paramount’s academic achievers, members of the local arts community (musical performers and artists in a variety of media), and the City’s focus on fitness.
Register for the 5K Race and 1K Fun Run
“Smarts, Arts & Healthy Hearts” will feature a 5K race (adults and anyone 4th grade and above) and a 1K fun run (adults and children 3rd-grade and below). There will be 1st-3rd place winners awarded in the 5K in a variety of co-ed age categories. The cost to participate in either run is $10 (all racers receive a t-shirt).
Pre-Registration is now available. Applications can be obtained and turned in to the Community Services and Recreation Office (15300 Downey Ave.), Paramount Park Community Center (14400 Paramount Blvd.), or City Hall (16400 Colorado Ave.) You can also download an application on the City’s website at www.paramountcity.com.
Registration the day of the race will be from 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. for the 1K and 8 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. for the 5K.

Paramount Artists – Display Your Work
If you are an artist living or going to school in Paramount and would like to show your work at “Smarts, Arts & Healthy Hearts” please contact the Paramount Recreation Department at (562) 220-2121.
Art can be in a variety of media – painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, multi-media, and more. It can simply be exhibited or offered for sale.
The City will provide a booth, a table, and chairs. Artists are responsible for arranging and displaying their artwork and need to be present during the length of the event. They are also responsible for the breakdown of the display.
