Municipal Election on March 3
The election for the Paramount City Council will be Tuesday, March 3, 2009. There will be eight voting locations throughout the City. They will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. There will be assistance in both English and Spanish available at the voting places on Election Day.
Sample ballot pamphlets will be mailed to each registered voter and have the address of the voter's polling place on the back cover. The pamphlet will have all information in both English and Spanish. Remember, your vote is important!
Voter Registration
To vote in the March 3, 2009 Paramount City Council election, you must be a registered voter, a citizen of the U.S., at least 18 years of age at the time of the election, a resident of the City of Paramount, and not in prison or on parole for conviction of a felony (Elections Code 321, 2101). It is also advisable to re-register if you have moved or if your surname has changed.
Voter registration cards are available at Paramount City Hall, public libraries, post offices, and DMV offices. The deadline to register to vote for the March 3, 2009 Paramount City Council election is Tuesday, February 17, 2009.
Elección municipal el 3 de marzo
La elección para el Consejo Municipal de Paramount será el martes, 3 de marzo de 2009. Habrá ocho ubicaciones para votar a través de la ciudad. Éstas estarán abiertas desde las 7:00 a.m. hasta las 8:00 p.m. Habrá ayuda tanto en inglés como en español disponible en los lugares de votar el día de la elección.
Se enviarán por correo folletos de muestra de balota a cada votante registrado y tendrán en la cubierta trasera el domicilio del lugar donde puede votar. El folleto tendrá toda la información tanto en inglés como en español. Recuerde, ¡su voto es importante!
Inscripción de votantes
Para votar en la elección del 3 del marzo de 2009 del Consejo Municipal de Paramount usted debe ser un votante registrado, ciudadano de los Estados Unidos, de por lo menos 18 años de edad el día de la elección o antes, residente de la Ciudad de Paramount, y no estar en prisión ni en libertad bajo fianza convicto de una felonía. También es aconsejable volverse a registrar si se ha mudado o si ha cambiado su apellido.
Las tarjetas de inscripción de votantes están disponibles en el Ayuntamiento de Paramount, bibliotecas públicas, y oficinas de correo o del departamento de vehículos de motor. La fecha límite para registrarse para votar para la elección del Consejo Municipal de Paramount del 3 de marzo de 2009 es el lúnes, 17 de febrero de 2009.
