July 2023

Around Town has been bringing you news about Paramount for more than 30 years. In recent years, you’ve received the newsletter as a two-pager every month. Beginning in August, we will be expanding coverage with a four-page seasonal issue delivered four times a year.

This change will offer a more comprehensive edition with upcoming seasonal events, along with a special calendar that can be cut out and placed on the family refrigerator.

We hope you enjoy the new version of our old standby, Paramount Around Town!

CONGRATS TO OUR GATES MILLENNIUM SCHOLAR!

Congratulations to our very own Paramount High graduate Jose C. Berdeja on the amazing accomplishment of being named a Gates Millennium Scholar.

The program, funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, selects only 300 student leaders a year from across the United States. Each receives full funding for all costs – tuition, housing, etc. – to attend a four-year university.

Jose joins 20 previous Pirates who have been selected for this scholarship over the years, a wonderful legacy.

He will be attending Stanford. Go Cardinal!

For large items that don’t fit in the trash carts/bins, call (562) 259-1239, ext. 244 the day before trash day then place the items on the curb with your trash.

Large-item service is free for single-family residences and multi-family properties with trash carts, not bins. For residential properties with trash bins and for commercial accounts there is a separate item charge.
