July 2022/City of Paramount Shop Paramount and Support Local Businesses!

Residents and visitors are encouraged to “Explore Paramount” during Shop Paramount Week August 15 to 21.

More than 1,000 gift cards have been purchased by the City from 20 local businesses to be given away to shoppers. This represents an investment of $50,000 in Paramount businesses by the City using funds received from the federal government through the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA).

Cards will be ra ed at the free summer concerts in Progress Park and the Heritage Festival on August 6. Other giveaways will be publicized on the City’s social media platforms @ExploreParamount, Instagram.com/ Paramount_Posts, and Facebook.com/cityofparamount.

The City will also o er Receipts for Rewards, where anybody who spends $50 or more at a Paramount business can submit their receipts at exploreparamount.com for a chance to win rewards.

When you shop in Paramount, your money stays in Paramount and supports local businesses and jobs. Shopping in Paramount helps pays for services like law enforcement, parks, street maintenance, and more.

Water-Saving Measures Now Required

Due to the severe drought in California, the State Water Board has required all water suppliers to implement conservation measures. The following are now in e ect for all Paramount residents and businesses.

•Limits on watering days for landscaped areas: April thru October – Monday, Thursday, and Saturday November thru March – Monday and Thursday

•No washing down hard or paved surfaces

•No excessive water flow or run o

•Washing vehicles only with an automatic shuto nozzle

•Customers must make repairs (water leaks, broken sprinklers, etc.) within 72 hours

•Restaurants may only serve water upon request

•Restrict water use for decorative water features

•Use only recycled water for construction activities

The goal is to reduce water usage by 20%. Thank you for helping to save water in Paramount!

Heritage Festival and Parade on August 6

Mark your calendars for the annual Heritage Festival on Saturday, August 6 from noon to 4:00 p.m.

Before the Festival begins, the Heritage Parade, produced by the Paramount Historical Society, will travel Paramount Blvd. starting at 10:00 a.m. between Paramount Park and Madison St. The Historical Society will also mount “The Big Car Show” from noon to 4:00 p.m.
