Resident Privilege Account All O’Fallon residents are eligible for resident rates on park facility rentals, programs and admissions with a Resident Privilege Account. Apply for your free Resident Privilege Account at the Renaud Center. Residents ages 16 and under must be accompanied by a resident parent or resident guardian to obtain a Resident Privilege Account. The account expires one year from the date issued.

Definition of a “resident” “Residents” are people who live within the City of O’Fallon’s corporate limits. City limits and Post Office boundaries are not the same, so it is possible to have an O’Fallon address, yet live outside the City, or have a postal address in an adjacent municipality, yet live in O’Fallon.

• A full refund will be given for classes cancelled by the City.

• All family members must be declared when a family account is established. Inappropriate use of membership ID and/or privileges may result in termination or suspension of the membership.

• No refunds or credits will be given for cancellations made less than 7 days before the start of the class.

*Additional individual family members (ages 3+) may be added to a Renaud Center membership at the cost of $25 for residents, $50 for non-residents.

O’Day Lodge is located one mile south of I-64 at 1100 O’Day Park Drive in O’Day Park. Rentals for the full-day are available between 10 a.m. – 11 p.m. Half-day rentals are available from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and 5–11 p.m. Renters may bring their own food and drink or use an Approved Caterer of their choice. Campsites at O’Day Park Overnight group camping for Scout groups and organizations is now available in O’Day Park. Two large camp sites are nestled amongst the wooded area, accommodating up to 25 campers each. More space is available for an additional fee.

The O'Fallon Police Department will patrol the park. At least one adult must be present for every 10 children.

Renaud Center • Rental Rates Rent a unique recreation complex with amenities for all ages and abilities! Perfect for your special event, meeting, wedding shower, basketball or volleyball practice, pool party, lock-in and more. Reservations are available outside of regular Renaud Center business hours. Rental requests are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis and must be made in person at the Renaud Center at least two weeks before the rental date. All fees and damage deposits are collected when reservations are made. Costs are provided for residents/ non-residents. The facility is located in Sports Park at 2650 Tri Sports Circle, O'Fallon, MO 63368.

This versatile room easily accommodates 50 people and has a sink, countertop space and tile floors. Tables and chairs can be set up at no extra cost. Outside food is allowed for an additional fee.

Lock-ins are popular for graduations, reunions, school and church gatherings. A minimum six-hour rental is required.

Tai Chi for Arthritis for Fall Prevention This program is designed to be a safe and effective exercise for a wide range of ages and conditions including arthritis. It uses the Sun Style of Tai Chi with its Qigong exercise to benefit balance, flexibility, mobility, coordination, management of arthritis and health in general. Youth Sports Performance Training Designed to help participants improve in the five biomotor abilities with each workout: strength, speed, endurance, agility, and coordination and flexibility. This training can also help develop proper habits that may reduce the risk of injuries.

Strength training will focus on progressively developing upper and lower body strength, core strength and stability through various periodization models. Speed training will focus on mastering efficient movement mechanics to optimize acceleration and maximum speed movement pertaining specifically to a given sport. Endurance training will progress from general to specific intervals, shuttle and sprint training.

Participants will become proficient at proper running and acceleration techniques. Flexibility is emphasized with each session and each athlete will be stretched at the conclusion.

Interval Training for Boomers • O’Day Lodge This class designed for “boomers” incorporates athletic-based exercises that improve upper-body conditioning. You’ll move through several intervals, or “blocks,” which are groups of exercises that focus on different muscle groups including short bursts of cardio to strengthen the heart. ur Just for Kids programs offer a great way for parents and grandparents to spend quality time with young children or take a little time for themselves while their children participate in a class. Children also benefit by socializing with others in enjoyable classes that can include singing, dancing, creating art and learning new skills. Look for new classes and family favorites every quarter!

Babysitting 101 • Ages 11–15 Do you have a child that is between the ages of 11–15 years old and interested in babysitting but doesn’t have the knowledge to do so? Sign up for our babysitting course where your child will learn basic child care skills, knowledge, safety precautions, dos and don’ts, first aid and a whole lot more. After completing this six-hour course, your child will receive a Community CPR/AED & Standard First Aid Certification from Jeff Ellis & Associates, Inc. that is valid for 2 years, a first aid kit and a snack!

Wee Tumblers • Ages 1½–3 Both the parent and child will both be actively involved in all activities. This includes music, streamers, hoops, parachutes and ball activities. Basic rolls, crab walks and cartwheels are introduced. Min/Max: 5/10

Martial Arts Tae Kwon Do • Ages 3–5, Ages 6–9, Ages 10–16 and Family (Ages 5 – Adult) This six-week Martial Arts program will focus on the traditional Korean form of Tae Kwon Do known as Chung Do Kwan. This style is based on explosive movements, devastating power and self-discipline. All students begin training at the “no belt” level.

After learning the eight basics and the first form, they will be invited to test for the white belt. Students will progress through a series of techniques and belts at their own pace and will not necessarily test each session. Because students progress at their own pace, testing will be at the discretion of the instructor.

Children who would like to progress at a faster pace may register for more than one class. Min/Max: 7/20

Civic Dance Studio Civic Dance Studio classes emphasize correct technique, placement, elegance and discipline. Class typically includes a warmup, progressive steps across the floor and dance combos.

Ballet classes include ballet and en pointe at the barre.

Tiny Tumblers • Ages 3–4 This child-only class is for young preschoolers. Activities include music, streamers, hoops, parachutes and balls. Basic rolls, crab walks and cartwheels are introduced. Min/Max: 5/8

Beginning Tumbling • Ages 5+ This tumbling class will start to cover major skills. Forward rolls, backward rolls, bridges, tripods, handstands, cartwheels and splits are all introduced. Min/Max: 5/10

Intermediate Tumbling • Ages 5+ Prerequisite: Beginning Tumbling and teacher recommendation; must have backward roll and cartwheel mastered.

Advanced Tumbling • Ages 5+ Prerequisite: Intermediate Tumbling and teacher recommendation; must have backbend kickover and 3-second handstand hold mastered.

Lil’ Ninja Warrior • Ages 3–6 Junior Ninja Warrior • Ages 5–9 Participants will complete obstacles, build endurance and strength, learn tricks and have fun, ninja style! Min/Max: 5/10

Water Walking

Swimming skills are not required for this four-week beginner class, which offers a great way to get started in our water exercise program. Aqua aerobics is a low-impact exercise that strengthens muscles and joints and provides a great cardiovascular workout in the pool. Min/Max: 8/30

Swimming is not required! Walk in the lazy river (you’ll find it’s really not so lazy!) to improve your cardiovascular system, balance and flexibility. Renaud Center Mileage Swim Club Earn prizes for the miles that you swim from January 1st through December 31st! You can start during any part of the year and keep track of your mileage in the Mileage Swim Club Binder on the pool deck. We’ll post the mileage weekly to share everyone’s progress. Prizes will be awarded to the top three individuals with the most miles and the swimmer with the most miles at the end of the year will win a grand prize!

Scout Troop Aquatics Badges

Learn to Swim with O’Fallon Swim Academy O’Fallon’s Swim Academy is built on teaching aquatic and safety skills in a logical progression. Our goal is to teach children and adults how to swim and be safe in and around the water.

The program is composed of 12 course levels and each child must pass a particular level before proceeding to the next.

• Aqua Learning: Parent and child participation is required.

Class size is limited to eight parent-child couples.

• Preschool– Level 3: Class ratio is six children to one instructor.

• Levels 4 – 6: Class ratio is eight children to one instructor.

• Adult: Class ratio is eight adults to one instructor.

Weekday sessions at the Renaud Center meet twice a week for four weeks and last 35 minutes. Saturday morning sessions last 40 minutes and meet for seven weeks.

Aqua Learning: Shrimp • Ages 6–18 months Parent or guardian participation in the water with the child is required. The instructor will demonstrate techniques as parents learn how to safely acclimate the child into the water.

Aqua Learning: Starfish • Ages 18–36 months Toddlers will enjoy learning basics of water safety and participating in a swim class. Parent or guardian participation in the water with the child is required. Parents will learn how to safely guide their child and help them advance at their own pace. The class is for children who are not yet ready to be away from mom or dad but do enjoy the water. Min/Max: 3/8

Aqua Learning: Pufferfish • Ages 2–3 This transitional class is for children who have passed Starfish but are not yet ready to be away from mom or dad or are still adjusting to a group environment in the water. The Pufferfish class is designed to help swimmers gain confidence and independence as they master introductory skills and learn safe practices. Parents or guardians will participate in the water during the first four classes. Min/Max: 3/8 Prerequisites: At least 2 years old or completion of Starfish Swimmers who successfully complete Pufferfish can: Swim underwater with assistance • Following directions • Swim independently of parent/guardian • Bob underwater with assistance • Jump in without assistance

Intermediate Lessons Ages 3–10 years

Progressive classes go from swimming with support to swimming independently; Student/teacher ratio = 6:1

Preschool: Turtle • Ages 3–4 This independent class is designed for children who have never had swimming lessons or are just starting to learn the fundamentals of swimming. Activities may seem repetitive, but students will gain confidence as they master basic introductory swimming and water safety skills. Min/Max: 3/6 Prerequisites: At least 3 years old (some exceptions may apply) or have completed the Pufferfish class • Must be able to follow instructions Swimmers who successfully complete the Turtle level when they can: Jump in without assistance • Swim underwater comfortably unassisted • Self-propel five feet to the instructor • Bob underwater without assistance • Know safety practices • Retrieve an object from chest-deep water with assistance

Preschool Plus: Seahorse • Ages 3–5 This advanced class continues to build your child’s independence and confidence in the water to prepare them for Level 1: Jellyfish and teach water safety and precautions.

Find the right group lessons for your child To ensure success in the O’Fallon Swim Academy, it’s important to register children for the appropriate level. Children who have participated in the swimming program should register according to the last class successfully completed, moving to the next class or skill level when all skills from the previous level are mastered. Some classes may seem repetitive, but we want swimmers to perfect their skills in order to advance safely, not quickly. Children learn at different paces and it is common to repeat a class.

Advanced Lessons Ages 6–12 years

Independent swimmers learn and perfect the 4 swim strokes; Student/teacher ratio = 8:1

Level Four: Marlin • Ages 6+

Level One: Jellyfish • Ages 4+ Builds on basic swimming skills, reinforces independent swimming and introduces the freestyle and backstroke. Min/Max: 3/6 Prerequisites: Age 4 or successfully completed Seahorse Swimmers will complete Level 1: Jellyfish when they can: Swim freestyle eight feet independently • Glide on front independently • Retrieve an object from bottom of the pool with assistance • Self-propel 15 feet to the instructor

Level Two: Sea Lion • Ages 5+ Emphasizes freestyle and backstroke skills while continuing to build endurance and independent swimming skills. Min/Max: 3/6

Emphasizes distance, endurance and technique. Swimmers will learn how to perform an open turn on the wall and begin learning the basics of breaststroke and butterfly.

Prerequisites: Swimmers must be at least 6 years old or have successfully completed Level 3: Stingray • Freestyle with rotary breathing for 25 yards • Backstroke with good form for 1 length of the pool • Tread water Skills Taught: Open wall turns • Introduction to Breaststroke kick, breathing and arms • Breaststroke push off and pullout off the wall under water • Butterfly kick (dolphin kick)

Level Five: Dolphin • Ages 6+ Emphasizes distance and technique for all 4 strokes. Swimmers will work on perfecting their turns off the wall along with the overall stroke form.

Prerequisites: 5 years old or successful completion of Level 1: Jellyfish • Swim freestyle eight feet independently • Glide on front independently • Retrieve an object from the pool bottom with assistance • Self-propel 15 feet to the instructor

he Cultural Arts Program offers people of all ages a chance to learn from experts and participate in live theater, special events, concerts, exhibits, art camps, year-round art classes and workshops. Courses are taught by professional artists.

Look for new classes each quarter and see exhibits of paintings, photographs and other media in the Cultural Arts Gallery at the Renaud Center.

Art Exhibits

Recommended for Ages 2+ Our customized private or semi-private swimming lessons are great if you need some flexibility with your busy schedule, if your child is struggling with a few skills, if you want your child to have more individual attention or if you are not sure what class is right for your child. Our private and semi-private lessons come in a set of three 30-minute lessons and are booked at the availability of the instructor. Sets can be purchased at either the Renaud Center or Alligator’s Creek Aquatic Center. We reserve the right to charge a $10.00 fee for all no call, no-shows.

Our private lessons consist of one swimmer and the instructor.

These lessons are based off of your child’s swimming abilities and skill level.

$63/$68 per set Our semi-private lessons consist of two swimmers and the instructor. The two swimmers can be either friends or family, but they must be at approximately the same skill level.

Both participants must be at the lesson for the lesson to be completed.

Art Classes • Youth and Adult The City of O’Fallon offers classes for aspiring artists of all ages ranging from introductory classes to advanced classes, providing as little or as much instructor interaction as you want. Class eligibility varies based on age and ability, but all O’Fallon art classes are designed to foster a passion for making art. All levels of learners are welcome. Join a class and learn the magic behind the craft!

This six-week course will cover color theory in inventive and imaginative ways. This could be your introduction into the world of color or a refresher for the old hand at painting. Instructor Rachel Cox is an experienced commissioned painter and freelance graphic designer. Her youthful energy will invigorate the most experienced color theorist and enlighten the youngest.

Creative Drawing • Ages 14+

Have you ever wanted the freedom to draw your imagination, or transform abstract thoughts into three dimensional forms on paper? Want to develop your own comic book character or create your own characters for a video game? This six-week class is for you!

Students will be introduced to mixed media and the materials and techniques related to this type of art. Students will be using a variety of surfaces to paint on such as canvas, wood, vinyl and paper. The teacher will be emphasizing the use of composition, mediums, color theory and other aspects. Students will learn how to utilize more than one medium in their work. The teacher will guide each student by showing new techniques to further their art education. Students are encouraged to develop a basic understanding of this art style and create their own body of work.

Instructor Cole J. Conder is classically trained in drawing techniques and a Senior Graphic Artist with a master’s degree in Education. Cole utilizes his classical training to develop and design amazing drawings of fantasy-styled creatures. His work has earned countless awards and recognition nationally and regionally. Don’t miss the chance to learn from a truly enlightened creative that grew up in our area. This drawing class is open to high school-aged students and up. Bring your favorite paper, mark-making tool and the imagination to create different worlds! Supply list will be provided at registration.

She has earned a Studio Arts degree and a Master’s degree in Art History along with her Missouri k-12 teaching certificate.
