PROGRAM REGISTRATION We offer two ways to register for classes and events: Walk-Ins at the Community or Activity Centers during operational hours or online at reconline.murphytx.org

NEW ACCOUNTS

Before registering for a class, you will need to create a recreation account for your household in CivicRec, either online at reconline.murphytx.org or in person at the Community or Activity Center.

WAIVERS After registration is complete, please be sure to electronically sign the waiver sent to your household email address. Waivers must be completed prior to the start of the first session.

EXTERNAL REGISTRATION Some classes require registration through an external website. Links can be found in the online catalog reconline.murphytx.org

CLASS FEE

Due prior to the 1st session of each month. A Non-residents fee of $5 applies to all programs and classes, per transaction.

REFUNDS Refunds may be applied to your user account for future use. A refund will be made back to the same form payment that it was received. All refunds will be made to the original payer only. For a credit card refund, please allow 10 days for processing. The 2% processing fee is non-refundable. Check refunds may take up to 30 days to process. For a full refund, please make your request prior to the 2nd class meeting.

MEMBERSHIP Effective as of October 1, 2025

Residents are any person(s) who pays property taxes or receives a water bill from the City of Murphy. An ID or water bill is required for verification.

Children under 18 years of age must have a parent or legal guardian present to sign up for a membership.

Day Pass: Any supervising adult (18 or older) can sign for a youth or teen day pass.

Membership cards are required for facility access. Lost cards will result in a $5 replacement fee.

All children ages 12 years and under must be accompanied by an adult member 18+ years at all times to access and use the facility.

All athletic equipment is available for checkout with a membership card or a valid ID based on availability.

Canceled Classes All instructors set a minimum number of participants required for the class to be held. To ensure your class is held, please sign up in advance so our instructors have an accurate count of the participants. Make-up days are at the discretion of the instructor.

Let's get Let's get social! social!

A 30-minute class for younger beginners; less than 8 years old. This class allows younger kids to earn belts as they progress towards the first belt level of the Family class. Students "graduate" to the full hour Family class when they either turn 8 years old or they complete requirements for the first belt level in the Family class. Price is per month and includes attending 2 times a week.

Okinawa Karate for Families Family class is open to youth and adults. We work on punching, kicking, falling practice, takedowns, ground work, and traditional weapons. We do not participate in tournaments. All Dallas Karate belt ranks are sanctioned by Okinawa. Price is per month and includes attending 2 times a week.

Traditional Tae Kwon Do Tae Kwon Do is a form of unarmed combat designed for the purpose of self-defense. It helps develop health by increasing cardiovascular ability, strength, balance, and flexibility. Along with these benefits one can gain more self-confidence, self- discipline, respect, and better focus. Tae Kwon Do is for everyone from kids to adults to seniors and you can be in any shape. Come give it a try and you will soon see positive changes in your health, mindset, and well-being! Price is per month and includes attending 2 times a week.

Okinawa Karate for Adults Classical Okinawa art taught using traditional ranks/requirements, including open-hand, jujitsu, ground work, and traditional weapons. These traditional principles are also expanded to conventional self-defense weapons of today (knife, kubaton (keys), short stick, and more). Dallas Karate is in direct lineage with Okinawa. Price is per month and includes attending 2 times a week.

YOUTH PROGRAMS YOUTH PROGRAMS Drama Kids The Jr. Acting Academy class is a very comprehensive program that covers spontaneous improvisation with specific directives, mini-scripts, character analysis, dialogue, theatre games, radio plays, monologues, and structured scenes. Year-end scripted productions performed for an audience. Price is per month.

Enlightenment Art Academy

This program is designed for young artists to help them open up their channels of creativity. It will teach kids patience and focus while learning fine arts techniques. It will increase their self-confidence, painting beautiful art pieces at each class with different mediums (watercolor, acrylics, oil pastels, and charcoal). Dress to mess & bring paper towels!

Texas Warriors FC Soccer Camp Texas Warriors FC Spring Break Soccer Camp offers a week of exciting, well-rounded development for young athletes. More than just soccer training, the camp blends technical skill-building with character development, emphasizing teamwork, leadership, and respect. Led by experienced coaches, players receive individualized instruction to improve ball control, passing, dribbling, shooting accuracy, agility, and speed, while enjoying competitive small-sided games in a fun and supportive environment.

Skyhawks Multi-Sport Camp Multi-sport programs are designated to introduce young athletes to a variety of different sports in one setting. Athletes will learn the rules and essential skill of basketball, baseball, and flag football along with the vital life lessons such as sportsmanship, inclusion, and teamwork. Next Level Hoops: Basketball Camp

Enlightenment Art Spring Camp

This beginner to intermediate camp for 3rd–5th graders is ideal for athletes learning the game or improving their skills. For $45 (includes a camp t-shirt), campers will develop fundamentals like dribbling, passing, shooting, defense, and teamwork through fun drills, games, and scrimmages, ending with a friendly competition. Players should bring basketball shoes, a water bottle, and lots of energy.

Spring break 2026 is the time to get creative! Explore the colors, learn fine arts techniques using watercolor, acrylics, oil pastels and more. Take home beautiful masterpieces everyday. TACT Soccer: Technique, Agility, Coordination, Teamwork The TACT Soccer program is a comprehensive soccer training program that addresses key areas of skill development for kids. It emphasizes technical fundamentals like dribbling, passing, shooting, and ball control. Price is per month.

Body Weight Burn This high energy class combines functional strength, cardio intervals, and core work to burn calories, build lean muscle, and boost endurance whether you're a beginner or a seasoned athlete options are provided to meet your level and push your limits.

This is a beginner level yoga session slowly evolving into intermediate level. The postures are taught with variations keeping the group in mind.

Mahjong- Open Play Ready to play? This Open Play Mahjong session is designed for players with basic knowledge of the game who want to practice, socialize, and enjoy a few rounds in a relaxed setting. Reservations are first come first serve, with a paid reservation. Pavilion reservations can be made online at reconline.murphytx.org at least 24 hours in advance or in person at the Community Center at 205 N. Murphy Rd up to the day of the reservation. Reservations may be made up to one year in advance (limited to two consecutive years of reserving the same date). Time limit for reservation needs to include set-up and clean-up, so another group could be scheduled right after. Outdoor restrooms only located at Timbers Nature Preserve, Murphy Central Park, and North Hill Park. Bounce houses under 200sqft are permitted in the parks, larger bounce houses require a permit. Restrooms closed from November 30 - March 1 (or longer due to prolonged cold temperatures).

ATHLETIC FIELD POLICIES

Reservations during peak times, Monday - Thursday from 5 pm-8 pm, are limited to two (2) one-hour reservations per week, per group, team, or coach.

Reservations are required to hold organized practices during peak hours.

Sunday is OPEN play only. No reservations permitted.

Reservations are only available to citizens, business owners, and business workers within Murphy city limits. The individual who reserves the field must be on-site at the time of the field reservation.

Reservation parties are responsible for disposing of litter in trash receptacles or taking it off-site.

Reserving parties must notify recreation staff when practices are canceled so others may use the field. Field reservations may be made on the same day, pending field availability.

No fields have lights.

Organized practice in open space around fields is prohibited.

Fields may be closed due to weather or for maintenance at the discretion of the Parks Department.

FACILITY RENTAL POLICIES

After hours reservations are limited to one meeting per month per group, unless approved. Reservation availability may be limited due to staff hours and availability.

Reservations for the MCC and MAC are made in-person at the Community Center on a first come, first serve basis.

Reservations can be made 90 days in advance and must be made two (2) weeks prior to the requested date.

Each applicant must provide payment in full by check or valid credit card at the time the reservation is made.

Reservation start and end times must include set-up and clean-up.

Refunds may be issued, per contract agreements being met. See reservation policies for more details.

All changes to a room reservation must be made five (5) business days prior to the reserved date. $15 non-refundable fee for Audio/ Visual equipment per room.

NO RESERVATIONS ON SUNDAYS-NO EXCEPTIONS.
