Listen up, Murphy!
We’ve got a hot new addition to our e-newsletter, and it’s about to make you feel like the VIP of city information. Say hello to Murphy: What’s on Your Mind? – your new favorite space to get the inside scoop on all things Murphy, straight from Bailey (our very own Public Affairs Officer) and some of the coolest city staff around.
Have a burning question about your neighborhood, traffic, or why we only have two chicken restaurants? Now’s your time to ask! From the silly to the serious, no question is off-limits. If it’s on your mind, we want to know!
How does it work?
Simple! You send us your questions (anything goes, but keep it family appropriate) and we will get Bailey and the team to drop some knowledge bombs right into your inbox. Seriously, we're ready for it all—whether it’s “Why can’t you fix this sidewalk?” or “How do I get my hands on some city merch?” (Spoiler alert: we might just have an answer).
And here’s the best part: YOU get to see your question answered right here in the newsletter, giving you that sweet taste of fame. Oh yeah, we’re talking about shining in front of all your neighbors. You’ll be the talk of Murphy (in a good way, of course).
Why should you care?
Because this is your city, and you deserve to know what’s happening behind the scenes. Think of it like a gossip session with a side of public service, where you get answers straight from the people who make it all happen. Also, it’s fun. Like, so fun. You’ll want to read it every time. Promise.
So, what are you waiting for, Murphy? Your questions are calling us, and we’re excited to answer. Drop us a line and tell us—What’s on your mind?
Let’s make this the most entertaining and informative conversation in town. Email us at: socialmedia@murphytx.org

If you don’t properly dispose of the unneeded medications in your home, they might find a new one.
Visit DEATakeBack com for a collection site near you
Unneeded prescription medication–those that are old, unwanted, or no longer needed – are a public safety issue, too often becoming a gateway to addiction.
The majority of opioid addictions start with prescription pills found in medicine cabinets at home.
Pharmaceutical drugs can be just as dangerous as street drugs when taken without a prescription or a doctor’s supervision.
A majority of people who misuse a prescription medication obtained the medicine from a family member or friend.
DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day events are one way to dispose of unneeded medications.
Beyond Take Back Day, there are opportunities to regularly and safely dispose of unneeded medications at pharmacies, hospitals, police departments, and businesses working to clean out medicine cabinets throughout the year.
