CITY BUDGET - YOU DECIDE Ever wondered how City budget decisions are made—or wished you had a say in what gets prioritized? This year, we’re giving residents a chance to do just that.

As part of the Fiscal Year 2027 budget process, our Finance team is inviting residents to weigh in on potential funding packages submitted by City departments. These packages represent proposed projects, programs, and improvements, and your feedback will help us better understand what matters most to our community.

From April 13 through April 24, residents will be able to review and rank funding priorities through a simple online tool. Your input will be shared with department leaders and the City Manager ahead of budget discussions, helping guide thoughtful and communityinformed decisions.

This is similar to an activity we’ve done in the past with our Citizen Academy—but now it’s open to all residents.

Keep an eye on the City website and social media for the official launch on April 13, and get ready to make your voice heard.

Because when it comes to planning for Murphy’s future, your priorities help lead the way.

New residential sprinkler system evaluation program!

The City of Murphy has partnered with the North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) and M&M Irrigation and Illumination to provide Murphy residents with an opportunity to have their irrigation system inspected.

The evaluation report will provide suggested irrigation system repairs, controller settings, and estimated gallons of water saved if you implement all listed recommendations. The irrigation evaluator will not make any repairs to your system, if repairs are needed, you are responsible for hiring a licensed irrigator.

SPOTS ARE LIMITED! Registration opens at 8:00am on the 20th of the month to accept requests for the following month.
