TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY will begin at 6 p.m.

GIFT LIGHTS! Residents are also invited to purchase a “gift light” for the community holiday tree in memory or in honor of a loved one. Each light costs $10 and includes a commemorative certificate.

The name of the person remembered or honored will also be placed in a display at City Hall during the holiday season. Proceeds from gift light sales will benefit youth in Montclair. The application to purchase a “gift light” will be available at www.cityofmontclair.org/holly-jolly-holiday This event is sponsored by the Community Activities Commission and the Women’s Club of Montclair.

Dashing Through Montclair Saturday, December 5, 2026 • 12 p.m. - 7 p.m.

Santa, Mrs. Claus and their sleigh will be dashing through the streets of Montclair, greeting residents and spreading holiday cheer. Please note that while Santa wants to visit every street, Montclair is too big so the route is changed every year to see as many streets as possible. If there is inclement weather the event will be canceled.

Earn a Two-Year Paid Scholarship

A VALUE of approximately $4,500 What is Montclair to College?

Montclair to College (MTC) is a ONE-OF-A-KIND college readiness program brought to Montclair High School students and their families by the City of Montclair, Chaffey Joint Union High School District and Chaffey College.

If completed successfully, MTC provides students with the opportunity to earn a two-year paid scholarship to Chaffey College-a value of approximately $4,500! The MTC scholarship includes tuition, textbooks, parking permit and enrollment fees.

Deadline to Apply: MARCH 11

ANY Montclair High School student can enroll in the program.

Students must graduate from MHS without significant disciplinary action with at least a 2.0 GPA. The MTC application and 20 community services hours at a nonprofit organization can be started as early as your freshmen year (9th grade) senior year (12th grade) and be completed by March 11 of their senior year.

Enrichment The City of Montclair, in partnership with the Ontario-Montclair School District provides Expanded Learning Programs at our local schools at no cost. The program begins at school dismissal time and ends at 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday when school is in session.

Based on their grade level, students are assigned to a class where a trained City Employee will guide TK - 8th Grade Students in the daily components of MAP, including a well-balanced supper, time for homework, physical education, and academic enrichment.

Enrichment activities complement the curriculum taught during the school day; Including art, drama, music, dance, games, and sports.

Your First Step Toward Freedom! Virtual Driver’s Education – Complete your driver’s ed requirement with a LIVE instructor because a real teacher often provides a more effective learning experience. In this class, you will learn to glide effortlessly, skate forward, backward, and stop.

On the 8th week of class, all skaters will perform a recital and will get a certificate to take home. A $5 skate rental is charged every time the class meets. Please arrive early as ice skates take time to be fitted properly. All participants receive free rink access on the day of their class.

The “File of Life” is a magnetic pocket holder that contains an information sheet with all your recent medical history. It attaches to the outside of your refrigerator and assists emergency medical personnel who may come to your home during an emergency.

TRASH SERVICE DISCOUNT

Senior Citizens, 65 years of age and older who pay their own trash service, are eligible to receive a 20 percent discount on their bills. Applications may be obtained from the Senior Center or at the City Hall reception area.

MONTCLAIR SENIOR CITIZEN'S CLUB

The Montclair Senior Center Citizen's Club is a non-profit meant to enhance the Senior Center experience! Membership is for persons over the age of 50 and the cost is $16 per year. The membership is valid from March 1, 2026 - February 28, 2027.

With your membership, you will receive a mailed monthly newsletter and offered exclusive club perks such as discounted rates to club events. For more information call (909) 625-9483.

MONTCLAIR WALKING PROGRAM

The group meets every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on the Upper level near North West Plaza Entrance (5060 E. Montclair Plaza Ln). Montclair Walkers is a FREE exercise program focused on Seniors and open to all ages sponsored by City of Montclair Human Services Department and Montclair Place. Registered Walkers who log 100 miles (or more) receive a free 100 Mile Club shirt! Applications are available on site with the program attendant or at the Montclair Senior Center.

West End Family Counseling Services, Older Adult Community Services Program provides free counseling and case management services to adults 60 years and older who meet the requirements for Early Intervention and Prevention Services.

This transportation program provides free curb-to-curb service for senior citizens ages 60 and older who are Montclair residents and do not drive. The service includes transportation to the Senior Center and general errands within Montclair city limits. Service outside Montclair is limited to medical appointments only. This program is made available through funding from the City of Montclair, San Bernardino County Department of Aging and Adult Services - Public Guardian, and the San Bernardino County Economic Development Department. Medical OMM Clinic The Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) Clinic will be held on the second Monday of the month from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Western University of Health Sciences licensed physicians and medical student volunteers will offer OMM, a form of treatment that physically manipulates the body's muscle tissue and bones. Montclair Community Garden The Montclair Community Garden opened June 20, 2015, as part of the Healthy Montclair Initiative. The garden is organic.

This means no chemical fertilizers, pesticides, weed killers, GMO seeds or plants. The Garden belongs to the community and all gardeners are responsible for helping maintain the garden grounds.

The Montclair Community Garden has 40 plus 3 ADA accessible raise beds plots for members of the community to rent on an annual basis. If you are interested in becoming a Garden member, visit the QR code (bottom left) for an application and turn in to the Montclair Recreation Center Front Desk. The Fruit Park is home to over 20 different fruit trees, including Apple “Granny Smith,” Lemon Eureka, Mexican Guava “White Pear,” and many more! What’s in your emergency kit? Most kits include items like emergency water, safety tools, food rations, and a first aid kit - but what about important personal documentation? Keep copies of essential documents and records in a safe and easy to access location near or inside your kit. This will come in handy in case you need to evacuate or if originals get damaged or lost. By participating in the EMS Subscription Program you can protect yourself, your family or employees against unexpected emergency medical services fees.

In an emergency always call 9-1-1 An emergency is considered an event or occurrence demanding immediate action, or any condition endangering life or property. You should call 9-1-1 if you smell smoke, see a fire, or if there is a serious medical emergency or potentially dangerous situation.

Calling 9-1-1 is serious and calling unnecessarily may endanger someone else's life or property! MAKE A DONATION From Monday, November 9 - Thursday, December 10 food donations will be accepted from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Human Services Department (Recreation Center), located at 5111 Benito Street (behind the library).

For the health and safety of those receiving food baskets we can not accept outdated, dented, bulging, perishable or open cans or packages. Residents are also encouraged to adopt a family. A donation of $100 to feed a parent and child or a donation of $150 to feed a family of four can be made any time prior to December 10.

The Racquetball/Weight Room Complex is located in the Recreation Center and consists of three racquetball courts, and a weight room. The Complex is open to the public, five days a week; however, it is closed on major holidays. The Human Services Department and Feeding America are coordinating to provide free food commodities to qualified San Bernardino and Riverside County residents. We would like to ask that all participants bring a grocery push cart for quick loading. Proof of income is NOT required. You will be asked to self-declare income. Food kits vary and may provide a selection of fruit, juice, vegetables, milk, cheese, grains, protein. All dates/times are subject to change.

In-Person Registration: Will be accepted at the Recreation Center on weekdays. Pre-registration is requested, however, registration will be accepted at the first meeting if openings exist. Certain activities could be canceled prior to the first meeting if sufficient pre-registration is not received. Payment may be made in cash, check, Visa or MasterCard. Checks are to be made payable to “City of Montclair”. A parent or guardian must register participants under the age of 18. For certain activities supply fees will be charged.

REFUND POLICY

Refunds for contract classes will be given only if requested before the first class meeting, or if the activity is canceled by the City or as otherwise noted.

LATE REGISTRATION PROCEDURES

Registration will close 2 days after class start date. If a program or class still has openings after the close of regular registration, late sign-ups will be allowed with the approval of the Recreation Coordinator and Instructor.

Late registration will only be taken at the Recreation Center and all original class fees will apply.

CLASS CANCELLATION

When a class is canceled due to insufficient registration or other reasons, our office will notify you before the scheduled first meeting. If an alternate date has been set for the activity, you will have the option of transferring to that time period or receiving a refund. Refunds will be mailed in the form of a check and may take up to six weeks to be issued.

SPORTS LEAGUES, TRIPS, & SPECIAL EVENTS

Registration procedures will vary and will be announced in all special newsletters and announcements pertinent to those activities.

SPECIAL ACCOMMODATIONS

Persons with disabilities are included in the City’s programs. If you wish to request special accommodations for any activity, please notify the Recreation Center, (909) 625-9479, at least three business days prior to the date of the activity.

RENTING FACILITIES The Montclair Human Services Department has facilities available for rent when they are not in use for City sponsored activities. Rates vary depending on the size of the facility needed and the type and duration of the activity.
