Don’t Try to Cram it All into the First Session

It might be tempting to pass judgment after one or two sessions; however, this may be rushing the process. The better approach is to attend at least 4-6 sessions before assessing further. Oftentimes, a new Social Worker can offer a fresh perspective, new insight and new growth opportunities.

PAGE 9 MULTI-SERVICE COMPLEX + SUNSET LAKES

Transitioning to a new Social Worker can be bumpy – so here are a few tips that will make it smoother:

Meet Our New Social Workers

Bryan LeAmeri Mathieu

With your new Social Worker, talk about your successes, struggles, and ongoing challenges. Most importantly understand that you have the ability to improve your life. There is great power in a positive relationship with your Social Worker. Give this relationship time to develop.

Don’t Compare Too Early or Too Often

Transitioning to a New Social Worker

Build on Your Progress

The Southcentral/Southeast Focal Point is proud to introduce two new Social Workers to our team. Please welcome:

COUNSELING + Social Work

With your previous Social Worker, maybe each session felt like picking up a conversation that never really ended. This is a wonderful place to be, and it absolutely can happen again. But it’s not going to happen the first time you meet with them. Building a new relationship takes time.
