As we celebrate Martinez’s 150th year, we ' re excited to share that 2026 will be filled with activities and programs that highlight the energy, creativity, and community spirit that make our City so special. Alongside two Sesquicentennial signature events, you’ll notice that many of our regular programs and gatherings throughout the year will carry a little extra spark as we honor this milestone together.
I encourage everyone to check the City Calendar often, as it’s updated regularly with events for all ages. Whether you ’ re joining us for a special 150th event or participating in one of our ongoing activities, this is a great year to celebrate together as a community!
Thank you for considering sponsoring our organization! Your generosity plays a vital role in supporting our mission. We gladly accept donations of any amount, as every contribution helps us make a difference in our community.
We are excited to offer the Counselor in Training (CIT) program for summer 2026! This program is designed to train teens to be successful recreation leaders. Teens will gain valuable experience and have fun adventures that will stay with them forever. They will learn useful leadership skills, get hands-on training with young children, and meet new people. They will attend intensive training led by Martinez Community & Recreation Services Staff. During the summer, CITs will put their training to use by working closely with staff to supervise and lead activities for campers.
Please Note: To be considered for this program, participants must be able to attend a mandatory CIT training on Tuesday, June 9th and Wednesday, June 10th. If you are unable to make this commitment, we cannot accept your application this summer.
