TAAF YOUTH BASKETBALL Enroll your child into youth basketball at the La Porte Recreation & Fitness Center! Youth sports provide children with physical exercise, interpersonal development, teamwork experience, and much more! Practices will be held once a week with one game each Saturday for six weeks. All participants will play in one of the following recreational COED divisions:: 6U, 8U, 10U & 12U. The league will abide by TAAF Youth Basketball Rules. Uniforms will be provided. Coaches are needed!! 2017 SPECIAL OLYMPICS FALL CLASSIC La Porte Special Olympics will be traveling to College Station to compete in the 2017 Fall Classic. We will be taking our athletes to compete in the sport of bocce. QUILT RAFFLE The Site Council is an advisory body for senior event offerings. They also provide fundraising opportunities to fund new events. The quilt of many colors, handmade by several site council members, is being raffled December 13, 2017 at 12pm. Quilt dimensions are 84 X 84 and will fit a queen size bed. Tickets are available at the Norman L. Malone Senior Center for $3 each. If you're interested in joining the Quilt Club, join us every Monday at 10am in the Norman L. Malone Senior Center.
LA PORTE NEW RED HAT SOCIETY Norman L. Malone Senior Center is starting their very own Senior Red Hat Society where senior women of all walks of life will gather and enjoy each others company through various programs and events. This group is designed for pure enjoyment! Our goal for all our Senior Red Hat Society members is to create valuable relationships with other women while living life to it's fullest. SECURITY GUIDELINES Outdoor facilities such as Rodeo arena events, permitting alcohol are required to have 1 Security Officer per every 100 persons, with a minimum of 2 Security Officers.
LOMAX ARENA OPEN RIDING RULES: ORDINANCE 2016-3620 • Open riding is available during arena operational hours of 7:00am and 11:00pm, with the exceptions of those dates and times that the arena is leased. • Those wanting exclusive time in the arena shall be required to rent the facility. • No paid, private instruction is allowed for any person during open riding, in accordance with section 50-3(3), unless the person has rented the arena. • Use of bucking chutes for rough stock is not allowed during open riding. • No glass bottles are allowed on any portion of the Livestock/Rodeo Arena grounds. • Certificates of Insurance are required in connection with all rentals of the arena where the lessee brings an animal or animals to the facility. • Rentals will be posted on the bulletin board by the concession stand on a weekly basis.
