The Residential Security Check Program is to be used when you will be out on a weekend trip or a month-long excursion and no one should be at the home unless authorized The Lancaster Police Department will patrol by your residence and check to ensure it is safe

Adopters will agree to a minimum of a 1-year agreement, renewable upon approval. Litter pick-up will be at a minimum of 1 time per month during the 1-year adoption period. One of the pick-ups must occur on the City of Lancaster's Annual TrashOff.
The City of Lancaster will be responsible for supplying trash bags, pick up and disposal of trash bags after each group completes clean up in their adopted area.
The Adopt-a-Spot program is a joint effort between your City government and the residents to keep our rights-of-way and neighborhoods clean and beautiful. Click here to download and fill out your application.

(If funds are unavailable, you'll be added to the list for the following year. When funds are available, you'll receive a letter asking if you still wish to participate.)
If confirmed by resident to participate, city staff will assess your sidewalk repair needs. (You'll receive a cost share quote, a sketch of the repair area, and a 30-day payment deadline.)
A contract will be prepared with the property owner and the city completes the work, which comes with a one-year warranty.
