Crime Prevention Tools Residential Security Check: The Residential Security Check Program is to be used when you will be out on a weekend trip or a month-long excursion and no one should be at the home unless authorized. About a week before your departure, the Lancaster Police Department asks that you please complete the Residential Security Check form. Nextdoor.com is a free social media website for your Neighborhoods, so you can communicate easily with your neighbors online. Report It.com lets you securely store serial numbers, item descriptions, pictures, and scans of receipts so that your items may be more easily identified in the event of theft or loss.

PROTECT YOURSELF FROM MOSQUITOS All residents are urged to use the 4-D’s of mosquito safety: • • • •
DRAIN standing water on your property so mosquitoes won’t breed Use insect repellant that contains DEET on your clothes DRESS in long sleeves and pants and spray repellant on your clothes. DEFEND – limit exposure and check window screens.
City of Lancaster residents are provided free mosquito dunks and insect repellant at 700 E. Main Street and 211 N. Henry Street while supplies last. The mosquito dunks assists in mosquito control by killing mosquito larvae when applied to water sources. pg. 6
