HONORING LANCASTER’S RESILIENCE: 1994 TORNADO ANNIVERSARY

April marks 31 years since the 1994 tornado that tore through Downtown Lancaster, leaving behind widespread devastation. In just moments, historic buildings, businesses, and homes were destroyed but the spirit of Lancaster remained unshaken
Through strength, unity, and determination, our community came together to rebuild The resilience shown in the aftermath shaped Lancaster into the thriving, vibrant city it is today. Downtown has been restored and revitalized, standing as a powerful symbol of perseverance.
As we reflect on this chapter in our history, we honor the residents, first responders, and leaders who helped Lancaster rise again Together, we continue to build a stronger, more connected community for future generations

EASY TIPS TO PREPARE FOR THE APRIL FLOODS

Clear Gutters and Downspouts
Cleaning your gutters is an essential task when it comes to preparing your home for spring. Keep gutters free of debris to allow rainwater to flow freely and prevent water buildup, which could lead to flooding
Declutter your home
As dust and other allergens settle around your home over time, it is important to dust and clean your home regularly.
Locate and repair any leaks
Watch out for mold as spring showers progress! It thrives in damp areas, so check for leaks under sinks, in attics, behind refrigerators, and in bathrooms
Seal windows and doors
Allergies are a serious issue for many people in springtime. To prevent pollen and other allergens from getting inside of your home, it is important to seal off any doors and windows
