2016 IT’S TIME TEXAS COMMUNITY CHALLENGE The City of Lancaster is planning ways to step up to the fourth-annual IT’S TIME TEXAS Community Challenge and help win it for Lancaster! We’ve got a Challenge for you, Lancaster! Join us and step up to the @ITSTIMETX Community Challenge! Let’s prove that our residents, schools, businesses, churches, and community at large are committed to healthy living and a healthier next generation.
WHAT: The IT’S TIME TEXAS Community Challenge, unites and mobilizes community members, schools, businesses, organizations, and mayors across the state in a friendly challenge to see which communities can demonstrate the greatest commitment to healthy living. The only statewide competition of its kind, the Community Challenge is designed to provide an easy and fun way for entire Texas communities to celebrate healthy living. WHEN: The 2016 Community Challenge ends on Mar. 31, 2016 HOW: Communities are grouped into categories according to population size. Using the IT’S TIME TEXAS Community Challenge website, communities earn points by participating in a variety of activities such as posting “healthy selfies,” taking healthy pledges, and tracking physical activity. A winning community from each size categories will be identified. Each winner receives a $1,200 grant for school health initiatives, trophy, and city banner.
