The Coaches and Volunteers of the Predators Softball Team are working with the City to promote, introduce and educate the youth participants to youth sports, develop leaders while learning the fundamentals of softball, team work, sportsmanship, and mental and physical toughness during practice and competition. Ages 6, 7, and 8. Late registration is open at the Lancaster Recreation Center from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturdays through April 5, 2019 until all spots are filled. Swimming
The Lancaster Tiger Sharks is a yearly swim team. Swimmers are trained in all competitive strokes and develop endurance and strength. The swim team is a great way to increase fitness, learn a valuable skill and make friends. The Lancaster Tiger Sharks compete locally, regionally and statewide in the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation (TAAF). New swimmers are welcome, rolling enrollment. The City of Lancaster is proud to offer our Soccer League in partnership with Challenger Sports. Professional coaches from the Challenger Soccer Academy will teach players the fundamental skills they need to take their game to the next level within a development league concept here in Lancaster. The league will run for 6 weeks, throughout the months of April and May. The league will consist of 4U, 6U, 8U, 10U and 12U participants.

All Learn-to-Swim classes provide instruction to swimmers of all ages and help them develop swimming and water safety skills in a positive learning environment. Each session includes four 45 minute classes over a two week period.

YAC Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) The Lancaster City Council created the Youth Advisory Council for the purpose of seeking input of its youth on municipal government issues, serving in an advisory nature to evaluate relevant issues. This is not your traditional class; you will achieve your fitness goals much quicker than before. Not only will this full body work-out class leave you feeling energized and full of life, but you will be surprised at how much of a workout it is. You will have dance moves with interval training and cardio workouts that is found in many boot camp classes along with ZUMBA. Zumba ZUMBA, a class that uses hip hop, weights, salsa, merengue, mambo, martial arts, squats and lunges all in one class. Come to the party and experience a full body workout in Zumba.

Power Hour Walking Fitness
This class is designed specifically for those who are new to spinning, utilizing interval training. This means you will sit and stand during the ride. You will alternate between light tension with faster pedaling, which simulates riding on a flat ground, with slower pedaling and higher tension, which simulates riding uphill. Body Pump Self Pace Program for Adults
Body Pump is a conditioning and weight training, sel-paced program using stationary weight equipment and a variety of exercises for each weight station. Free with fitness atrium membership. Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m.
Walking program will help improve physical and mental health of those who walk. It will increase weight loss and improve fitness. The class is designed to get your heart rate up as you move to world beats with urban flavor and HipHop music. This athletic cardio workout will tone your body and leave you begging for more. Join U-Jam at the Lancaster Recreation Center.

It is FREE and senior participants do not have to be a member of the Lancaster Senior Life Center. Senior participants MUST complete an intake form and nutrition assessment prior to participating in the Congregate Meal Program. RSVP is highly encouraged. This program is sponsored in part by the Dallas County, Dallas Area Agency on Aging (DAAA) and the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS). Senior adults, who are not members of the Senior Life Center, ages 50-59, can purchase the nutritious meal for an additional fee. Monday-Friday, 12:00 p.m. until all participants have been served.
For Senior Citizen’s over the age of 62 discounts are available for water and sewer. The discount on water is $2.24 and $2.06 for sewer. Don’t miss out! Stop by the Utility Billing counter at 211 N. Henry Street to sign up for your Senior Discount!

PuzzleRama is a wonderful way to exercise your ingenuity and your wealth of knowledge, as only seniors know. We have a variety of puzzles to increase your “inductive reasoning aptitude� and discover logic in the palm of your hands. PuzzleRama exercises the mind, body and soul, by challenging you to pick up the pieces and solve the problem.
Bring your own materials and enjoy conversation, assistance with technique, and the company of fellow craftsmen. A quilting horse and sewing machine is provided. Senior adults regularly create items to be donated to area hospitals and care facilities.

Walking Club

Older Americans Month The month of May is Older Americans Month. Join us in celebrating Older Americans at the Information and Health Fair that will be held at the Centennial Hall at Fair Park.
