Warrants can be lifted by requesting a payment plan – You will need to have a form of payment on the day of Walk In Court to start a payment plan. Cash, Credit Card or Money Order is accepted. If you enter into a payment agreement with the Court and default on it by failing to make required monthly payments, the warrant will be reactivated along with additional costs and fees. If you were incarcerated and did not receive credit for time served at the time of release on your Lancaster citations, no time served credit will be granted by the Judge. You can drop off your expired medications Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the Public Safety Building, 100 Craig Shaw Memorial Parkway. Drop off is also available at the quarterly City Wide Trash Off Events.

Stage 2 Watering Schedule
The City of Lancaster has implemented a mandatory watering restriction (2 day watering days) in accordance with Stage 2 of the Lancaster Drought Contingency Plan. Hand watering and soaker hoses are okay at any time.

Look for the WaterSense label. Another way to achieve a bundle of savings for you and the environment – just look for the WaterSense label when replacing old or worn-out fixtures or appliances. WaterSense makes it easy for you to select products that use less water, yet perform as well or better than conventional models. That’s because these products are put to the test before they make the cut. In fact, fixtures like bathroom faucets and toilets with the WaterSense label are designed to be 20 percent more efficient than their counterparts.
Test your toilet for leaks. Leaky toilets can waste hundreds of gallons per week. Fixing those leaks is usually as simple as replacing the toilet flapper. 1. Remove the tank lid. Drop a dye tablet or add 10 drops of food coloring to the tank. 2. Put the lid back on. Don’t flush yet. 3. Wait at least 10–15 minutes. If colored water appears in the bowl, you have a leak. 4. Be sure to flush once the verdict is known, to avoid staining the inside of the tank.
Use your water meter to find out if you’re losing water to leaks. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates that the average household’s leaks can account for more than 10,000 gallons of water wasted each year, which adds up to the volume of water needed to wash about 270 loads of laundry.
Here’s what you can do to see if your house has a leak. 1. To determine if you have a leak, please allow for 30–60 minutes during which time no water should be used on the property. 2. Find your water meter, usually located in the front of the house near the street. 3. Remove the lid and write down the numbers indicated on the meter at the start of the test. 4. Return to check the meter reading after 30–60 minutes have passed. 5. If the numbers haven’t changed, you do not have a leak. You’re done. 6. If the numbers have changed, close the shutoff valves under all toilets in the house, and repeat steps 1–4. 7. If the numbers have not changed after shutting off the toilet valves, you may have a running toilet that should be serviced. 13

If you are not already signed up for the CodeRED emergency notification system, we urge you to do so. The CodeRED emergency notification system is a communication service available for emergency and nonemergency notifications. CodeRED employs intranet mapping capable of geographic targeting of calls and a telephone-calling system capable of delivering prerecorded messages directly to homes and businesses. Your contact information will remain private and will only be used for severe weather alerts. Stay Safe CodeRED Weather Warning will alert citizens in the direct path of severe weather.

Alert Types Notifications will be sent out moments after a severe thunderstorm warning, tornado warning or flash flood warning has been issued by the National Weather Service. Only citizens in the immediate impact area will be alerted. Caller ID You will know the call is from CodeRED Weather Warning when you see the telephone number 888-566-9780. If you would like to hear the last message delivered to your phone, simply dial the number back. Privacy Your contact information will remain private and will only be used for severe weather alerts. You may also receive alerts in other areas that use CodeRED for community notifications.

When are the Outdoor Warning Sirens Activated? The National Weather Service (NWS) advises use of the outdoor warning sirens when an event is life threatening to the community and anyone outside should seek cover, and go immediately indoors and tune into the television or radio for more information. Tests are performed the first Wednesday of each month, weather permitting.

Energy Conservation Energy conservation can help save energy and money throughout year. When consumers respond to ERCOT requests to reduce energy demand during certain hours, it helps grid reliability. As the grid operator for most of Texas, ERCOT works every day to make sure there is enough electricity available for consumer needs. Sometimes the demand for electricity may be very close to the amount of generation available, either because consumers are using a lot of electricity or some power plants are not able to provide enough power. On those days, ERCOT may issue a conservation alert. Peak demand during the summer occurs between 3 and 7 p.m. on very hot days, and winter peaks occur during the early morning (5-9 a.m.) and early evening (4-9 p.m.) on very cold days.

National Notifiable Diseases Surveillance System To protect Americans from serious disease, the National Notifiable Diseases Surveillance System (NNDSS) helps public health monitor, control, and prevent about 120 diseases. These national notifiable diseases are important to monitor nationwide and include infectious diseases such as Zika, foodborne outbreaks such as E. coli, and noninfectious conditions such as lead poisoning. About 3,000 public health departments gather and use data on these diseases to protect their local communities. Through NNDSS, CDC receives and uses these data to keep people healthy and defend America from health threats. 30

Background The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) is investigating suspected cases of pulmonary disease among individuals who report vaping. Similar cases have occurred in multiple other states, some resulting in hospitalization. All suspect cases reported vaping with products including nicotine and/or tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Evaluation for infectious diseases was negative in all patients. DSHS is working with other states and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to better characterize case demographics, clinical characteristics, and exposures. Recommendations for the Public People who experience difficulty breathing, cough, or other symptoms in the days or months after vaping should seek immediate medical attention.
