ACTIVITY PASS (Semi-Annual or Annual Pass) Covers Weight Rooms, Cardio Rooms, Open Swim, Lap Swim, Open Tennis and any Health and Fitness Class with the .

Registration at the Kelly Recreation Complex is required for all activities and classes. Due to limited enrollment, pre-registration and pre-payment is recommended and sometimes required for classes.

A high-impact cardio-fight fitness program.

It incorporates fight routines, free weights, resistance training and cardio into a highenergy motivational hour! Participants should wear comfortable clothing and tennis shoes. The minimum age requirement is 15 years old. Participants 12-14 years of age may work out if accompanied by a parent or guardian, 18 years and older. Anyone under the age of 12 cannot use the fitness rooms due to insurance requirements. All participants are encouraged to consult a physician before beginning any exercise program.

Co-Ed Cardio Room: Work out in our cardio room featuring Cardio Theatre and Precor & Track Master machines such as cross trainers, upright & recumbent bikes, steppers, treadmills, rowers and more!

The theatre consists of 8 flat screen televisions on different stations for your entertainment. Standard 3.5 mm headphones are required for the audio. Participants may bring their own headphones or purchase a pair for $5 at the front desk.

Rejuvenate and unwind while working on your breathing and flexibility all while toning up.

Pickleball A fun game that’s played on a badminton court with the net lowered to 34” at the center. It is played with a perforated plastic ball (similar to a whiffle ball) and wood or composite paddles. It is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a quick, fastpaced, competitive game for experienced players. New players are always welcome.

Pickleball Lessons

Learn the basics of this fast-growing activity that combines parts of badminton, table tennis and tennis into this unique sport.

Medieval Dance

A fun, hands-on, interactive class designed to enhance your self-confidence and improve your people skills. Learn how to meet and greet people, the formula for a proper introduction, the importance of eye contact and body language, the use of conversational clues and verbal padding, and dining etiquette. The class will include seven one hour sessions with lectures, discussions, role play scenarios and the basics of social dancing.

The Beerman Family Tennis Complex, located at Edgewood Park, has 18 lighted hard surface tennis courts and two three-wall racquetball courts. Edgewood Park also has an ADA Accessible playground area, Common Ground. The complex is open Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm. Saturday and Sunday the courts will close at the same time as Common Ground Playground. Typically at 6 p.m. during the winter months and 8 p.m. during the summer months.

Coleman-Bush Building History

Coleman-Bush Building was designed to be a multipurpose physical facility for the social, economic, health, cultural, recreational, and educational needs of the growing community.

Construction began on the then-named Northwest Community Center in 1974.

In October of 1980, it officially became the Coleman-Bush Building. It was named after two gentlemen who were prominent members of the community. Charles A. Coleman was a Lakeland Commissioner from 1974 until 1978. He also served as mayor pro term in 1976 and mayor in 1977. Gow M. Bush was a well known physician. They were both active and involved in the local civic affairs.

This building has proven to be an important asset to the community and has continued to fulfill the objective set up all those years ago. It has provided office space for lease by nonprofit organizations and meeting space for civic groups. Social events enhance the quality of the community life, so it is only fitting that the Coleman-Bush Building, a community cornerstone, hosts these events, as well. It also provides leisure time programming for the city’s residents. City of Lakeland Neighborhood Services & Housing Division replaced the rental suites, NAACP remains in the building.

The 50 Mile Swim Club is a self motivated program which allows swimmers to set goals and work towards achieving the 50 mile swim at their own pace. Lakeland Community Theatre’s home is the 390 seat Lake Mirror Theater which has provided the Lakeland community with live theater productions for more than 30 years. It produces five Main Stage productions a year, including musicals, comedies and dramas, The Edge: An alternative Stage Read Series, Out of the Box Theatre Troupe with Unique Abilities, Senior Troupe and a three show Theatre for Youth Season as well as classes and camps throughout the year. With a full time staff of four, it hires theatre professionals for its technical and production needs but is mainly volunteer based with all of its actors and most of its production help volunteering from the community.
