“ My entry has been hand drawn using ink pens, scanned & then had the brightness/ contrast adjusted digitally. Working with the given prompts (tree of life/life cycle of beings & metamorphosis) I have produced a tree of life whose branches and trunk form the shape of a butterfly. A butterfly is a creature that undergoes a significant metamorphosis during its life cycle. Here the tree itself has undergone a metamorphosis; changing into the shape of the butterfly. Some of the branches are quite delicate as life can be.

The roots of the tree interweave themselves and become the encircling frame of the tree - indicating the cycle of life.”
