City Welcomes David Allen as Community Development Director A native of Atlanta, Georgia, David Allen earned a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University. He is a Georgia Registered Landscape Architect. Mr. Allen has worked in various landscape architecture and engineering firms in Norfolk, VA, Macon, GA, and Fayetteville, GA. Most recently, he has served as the Planning & Development Director for Pike County, Georgia. In 2011, was appointed to the Three Rivers Regional Commission’s Planning Advisory Council. Mr. Allen comes to us with a wealth of experience in Comprehensive Planning, Ordinance Development, Planning, and Zoning. David Allen lives in Zebulon, Georgia, with his wife and three children.
Jessica Reynolds, Executive Director of the Office of Downtown Development, Main Street Georgia, presented a plaque to the City of Jonesboro at the May 14 Council Meeting designating Jonesboro as a Classic Main Street City. This prestigious program places the City in line for additional assistance and funding in developing a vibrant downtown area. Members of Main Street and the Downtown Development Authority attended the presentation.
