Steven O’linger has been employed by the City since 2006. He currently serves as a Probation Officer, handling multiple cases, assisting clients in successfully completing their probation. Officer O’Linger & his wife of 22 years, Natalie, and daughters love to travel and go camping. Steven is especially proud of his daughters, Hailey, a college junior aspiring to be a teacher; Emily, a high school senior, dual enrolled who will enter nursing school, and Lauren, an 8th grader in accelerated classes with straight A’s. Well done on all fronts, Steven O’Linger!
Herbert Hendricks is a native of Augusta, Georgia. He has worked as a General Laborer for the City of Jonesboro since April 2019, cutting grass, cleaning storm drains, picking up litter, and working in sanitation. Herbert enjoys reading, listening to jazz music, working out, and going to church. He is married with three sons: Kadeem:29, Jamaal: 27, and Amaeyon, 16. He also has one grandchild. ARTS CLAYTON MURALS RESTORED After 15 years of public enjoyment and weathering, the Arts Clayton Murals have been restored to their original beauty. Initially funded in 2006 through a grant from the National Endowment of the Arts and local funding, The murals by Shannon Lake were inspired by the book Separate Fountains by Jonesboro native Patty Byars Wilson. The City’s past is highlighted in the four panels that depict the vibrance of community life and the characters, values, and events that made Jonesboro what it is today. The four panels portray events in Jonesboro’s History: The Arnold Sisterslifelong residents and teachers in the community, The Goat Man-a twice yearly visitor-a religious and nomadic man with his herd of goats, A Gypsy Woman-part of a mysterious group who came to town in covered wagons and sold medicine, and old Main Street Jonesboro: Patty and her younger brother enjoying the passing trains and refreshments along Main Street.
