CITY CONCERT Saturday, August 3 Lee Street Park—7:00 pm
LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL! ANNEXATION BRINGS RESIDENTS AND BUSINESSES TO CITY In June of this year, the City of Jonesboro annexed +/- 45.01 acres of land. The annexation was provided through House Bill 654 which was introduced this past session by members of the Clayton County Delegation and signed by Governor Brian Kemp. The intent of this annexation was to further clarify the boundaries of the City to help alleviate any confusion with emergency personnel and to enhance beautification efforts on our North Main Street and Jonesboro Road corridors. Through this annexation, several businesses and residential structures along North Main Street, Keystone Court, Dixie Drive, Fifth Avenue and Tanglewood now reap the benefit of great city service. There are some changes with annexation that will happen immediately, including enhanced police protection for the area. Other changes will happen slowly over a longer period of time. Municipal sanitation will be provided to those newly annexed residents effective January 1, 2020. We have studied and planned this annexation and feel certain that this annexation will be beneficial to you and our entire community. We encourage all of our new citizens to be informed of and engaged in all that our great city has to offer. Our citizens are what makes our city so wonderful, and we strive to provide the best customer service possible. We hope to make this transition as easy and as seamless as it can be. If you have any questions or issues, please do not hesitate to reach out to rclark@jonesboroga.com. We are here for you. Ricky L. Clark, Jr., City Manager
