DR. DONYA SARTOR ELECTED AS THE 16TH MAYOR OF JONESBORO
Registered voters within the corporate boundaries of the City of Jonesboro have elected Dr. Donya Sartor as the Mayor of Jonesboro for a term to expire December 31, 2023. Dr. Sartor has worked in the field of education for over 25 years. A graduate of Lakeshore High School in College Park, Georgia, she has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Emory University, a Master of Arts degree from Clark Atlanta University, and a Doctoral degree in Education from Georgia State University. Dr. Sartor is a Board Member for Arts Clayton and Bridge of Light, Inc. She was selected as part of the 2021 Class of Leadership Clayton through the Clayton County Chamber of Commerce and currently serves as an Ambassador for the Clayton County Chamber of Commerce. Most recently she was named to the Georgia Municipal Association’s Equity and Inclusion Council. She also finds time to be active in her sorority, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated and the Atlanta Southern Crescent Rotary Club.

Councilman Don Dixon, an attorney with the law firm of McMichael & Gray, has over 25 years of experience in real estate. A graduate of John Marshall Law School, Mr. Dixon also served on the Jonesboro Housing Authority. Don has been a member of the GA State Bar since 1994. Councilman Alfred Dixon, returns to the City Council after serving from 2016-2019. Mr. Dixon is pursuing his degree in Political Science from Clayton State. A graduate of Mundy's Mill High School, Mr. Dixon has served as a member of the QuikTrip management team. In his spare time, he is an avid reader of books, especially those of world leaders, and pulls from their experiences to model is leadership path.
