2025 Fall Session

September to December Registration

Registration for classes and programs can be done online or in person at any Irving recreation center.

Register for an Irving Parks and Recreation (IPAR) Membership Card:

1) An IPAR Card is required for all participants to register for classes.

2) To obtain an IPAR card, visit a neighborhood recreation center to have your photo taken. The card will be printed on-site.

3) For membership pricing, see page 6 or visit IrvingTX.gov/Memberships-About-Us

Register for Classes:

1) Must have an IPAR Card to register.

2) Visit IrvingTX.gov/IrvingRec to access the ActiveNet website.

3) Register for an account or sign in to an existing account. For a new membership, information is needed for head of household and each family member registering for classes.

4) Follow instructions for selecting classes for each individual. Classes will be added to the shopping cart.

5) Complete transaction and make payment online using a credit card.

Advisory Committee on Disabilities

The Advisory Committee on Disabilities serves as a contact and voice of Irving residents to the City Council. The committee reviews and discusses matters referred to it by the City Council and the City Manager, and it provides recommendations to the council concerning matters of accessibility, use and benefit to persons with disabilities.

Tree Board

The purpose of Tree Board is to promote protection of healthy trees, preservation of native trees and provide guidelines for replacing and replanting trees in parks and public property, as well as review specific beautification projects.

Membership Fees

Parks and Recreation offers two types of memberships: A basic which is required to use the recreation center, and one for fitness which is required to enter the fitness rooms at each facility. Members can use any recreation center.

AutoPay Avaliable

Autopay is available through ActiveNet for annual IPAR and Fitness memberships and After School Programs, both online and in-person. For more information, call a neighborhood recreation center. Membership ID cards can be printed at any recreation center. Must have a valid photo ID as proof of residency.

Aquatic center pricing varies based on the type of facility and the visitor’s resident status.

Children match colors to numbers, using a color key to bring pictures to life. As they work on these coloring activities, they will practice number recognition while developing fine motor skills and attention to detail.

Active Kids: Play, Move, Grow! – Ages 8-14

A fun-filled gym class for homeschooled children, supporting their physical and social development through organized play. With a variety of engaging games and team building activities, this class will help children build skills that will last a lifetime.

Arts & Crafts Club – Ages 6-12

Students will make a variety of different art and craft projects using a variety of mediums and materials.

Babysitter Training Course (Red Cross Certified) – Ages 12 years and older

Designed for teens and preteens, this Red Cross-certified course teaches essential childcare skills, basic first aid and emergency response techniques. Participants will learn how to care for infants and children, handle common challenges and ensure a safe environment. Upon completion, students will receive a Red Cross Babysitter Certification valid for two years upon completion.

Bead Creations – Ages 6-14

Design and make unique crafts using beads, string, yarn and more. A fun way to spark creativity and fine motor skills!

Special Effects Makeup Camp – Ages 8-16

Some of the most magical transformations in film and TV begin with makeup, a brush and an artist. In this class, learn the basics of how special effects makeup is designed for the stage, the screen and explore its history along the way. Learn what is in the makeup artist’s toolkit, practice foundational techniques and explore different approaches to creating convincing character effects. Days

Ready to get your Spooky on? Halloween isn’t just about dressing up and getting free candy. Experience the fall season with intensely spooky haunted houses around the DFW area. Fee includes transportation and admission. All trips depart and return to Mustang Park Recreation Center.

Keep Irving Beautiful (KIB) invites the community to attend the 34th annual Trash Bash. Volunteers 17 years and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Supplies such as litter pickers, trash and recycle bags and gloves are provided. Volunteers who bring canned food items to donate will receive a T-shirt, while supplies last. Guard Ready – Ages 15 years and older

Get lifeguard ready with Guard Ready. All participants must be able to swim one length of the pool and tread water with their head above the surface for 30 seconds. Irving Sharks Winter Try Outs – Ages 7-17

Swimmers must be able to demonstrate a basic understanding of the four competitive strokes. Fine technique and endurance will be improved on throughout the season. Shallow Blended Lifeguard Certification Training

 Location: Heritage Aquatic Center  Training Cost: $125 Resident | $250 Nonresident

Become a certified lifeguard. Irving Parks and Recreation hires Red Cross-certified lifeguards, ages 15 and older for part- and full-time summer and year-round positions at its aquatic facilities. Blended learning combines online coursework with in-person skills sessions. Complete all eLearning modules, including the CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid exam, at least two days before your first skills session. The eLearning portion takes about seven hours. Bring proof of completion.

Successful participants earn American Red Cross Lifeguard/First Aid, CPR-Professional Rescuer and AED certifications.

Lifeguarding Course Prerequisites

To participate in the Lifeguarding course, participants must be at least 15 years old on or before the final scheduled session, and successfully complete the following swimming skills evaluations:

Looking for a pavilion to rent for a family gathering or a birthday party? The Irving Parks and Recreation Department has a booklet full of information about facilities available to rent, including multiuse rooms and all facility amenities. The booklet is available online at IrvingTX.gov/Facility-Rentals. Most rental reservations can be made in person or online at IrvingTX.gov/IrvingRec or by calling (972) 721-2501.

Gaming Field Rentals

The City of Irving Athletics Department rents lighted baseball and multiuse fields for leagues, tournaments and instructional camps at Irving Soccer Complex, Lively Park, Southwest Park and Trinity View Park. Gaming fields are reserved exclusively for league and tournament play. Application submissions must include a certificate of insurance and a field map diagram; incomplete submissions are not accepted.

Light Fee: $12/hr. resident; $24/hr. nonresident

Looking to reserve trails for running or walking events? The Athletics Division of the Irving Parks and Recreation Department offer reservations for Campion Trail.

 Flat rate of $200 for residents or $300 for nonresidents, plus corresponding pavilion rental rate.

 Pavilion fees of $30 per hour apply to Irving residents and $60 per hour to nonresidents for all large park pavilions blocked off due to the event.

Looking for the things that go bump in the night? Come out to Eerie Irving where the Irving Parks and Recreation Department invited the city’s ghouls, ghosts and not-so-scary monsters to thrill, shock and entertain!

This costume-friendly event will feature an interactive walk-thru experience with a series of enclosed spooky scenes. For the younger ghouls and goblins, there will be free activities such as carnival games, rides, fall photos ops and more. A variety of food will be onsite for purchase. *Entry to park begins at 5:30 p.m. and closes at 9:15 p.m.
