Completing the Continuum of Advanced Cancer Research and Treatment

City of Hope Orange County is redefining the boundaries of what’s possible in cancer research and treatment. We’re bringing access to our scientific expertise and highly specialized cancer care closer to home by building OC’s only cancer specialty hospital at our comprehensive cancer campus in Irvine, California. Once open in late 2025, it will deepen our treatment capabilities and seamlessly connect to City of Hope Orange County Lennar Foundation Cancer, OC’s most advanced cancer center. Surrounded by a regional network of care, the Irvine campus is a beacon of hope for the nation’s sixth largest county.

The cancer specialty hospital responds to a cancer incidence rate in Orange County that will increase by 18% between 2018 and 2028 as OC ages faster than the national average. Where other hospitals must serve the full spectrum of health conditions, every team member at our cancer specialty hospital and all 73 beds are entirely dedicated to treating and curing cancer. It doubles our surgical capabilities, delivers even more evidence-based therapies and further expands access to clinical trials — many of which are only available in an inpatient setting. Now the full continuum of cancer treatment will be closer to home.
