We have made important progress this year, and you are seeing the results across Hialeah.

My focus remains on the things that affect you and your family every day: keeping costs down, making our neighborhoods safer and cleaner, improving our parks and infrastructure, and being responsible with your tax dollars.

Our Town Halls and community events have given me the chance to sit down with residents, answer questions and hear firsthand what is happening in your neighborhoods. As we head into the final months of the year, we are not slowing down. There is more work ahead, and I look forward to continuing that work with you. Thank you for the opportunity to serve you.

WATER & SEWER RATES

NEW RATES AND SENIOR PROGRAM REDUCE MONTHLY BILLS Hialeah is lowering water and sewer rates by 25% on the first 10,000 gallons of water residents use each month, regardless of their total consumption. The new Senior Water Relief Program is available to homeowners age 65 and older with an annual household income below $38,686 who have a City of Hialeah water bill in their name. Combined with the lower rates, their average water and sewer bill will be reduced by approximately 50%. Both savings are applied automatically. Residents do not need to apply or take any action.

The City renewed its Senior Homeowner Relief Program for another year. More than 6,500 seniors will continue benefitting from the program this year, saving an average of $539 on the City portion of their property taxes.
La Ciudad renovó por un año más su Programa de Alivio para Propietarios de la Tercera Edad. Más de 6,500 adultos mayores se beneficiaron del programa este año, con un ahorro promedio de $539 en la porción de sus impuestos a la propiedad correspondiente a la Ciudad. NO INCREASE IN CITY PROPERTY TAX RATE, GARBAGE OR STORMWATER FEES Hialeah has approved a $514.4 million budget for the coming year, with continued investments in public safety, streets, parks and other essential City services. Over 100 street improvement work orders are currently in progress and more than 95% of drainage maintenance backlog has been cleared. Public safety remains a major part of the budget, with twelve new police motorcycles and additional investments in Fire, 911 and safety equipment.

Hialeah is doubling street sweeping across the city. Every curbed road will now be swept twice a month, covering about 830 curb miles each month. The new sweepers will pick up leaves, litter and debris before they can build up along streets and clog storm drains, helping keep neighborhoods cleaner and drainage systems clear. A new asphalt truck is also hitting the road, giving Public Works more capacity to make street repairs across Hialeah. By renegotiating the previous contract, the City is reinvesting those savings to

MIAMI MARLINS MLB YOUTH ACADEMY OPENS AT BABCOCK PARK The Miami Marlins MLB Youth Academy is officially open at Babcock Park, bringing year-round baseball and softball programs to Hialeah kids and teens. Mayor Bryan Calvo welcomed representatives f rom Major League Baseball and the Miami Marlins, along with local leaders and young athletes, to Babcock Park for the ribbon-cutting ceremony and a tour of the renovated facility. About 200 players ages 5 to 15 are
participating this fall, with advanced training available for ages 13 to 18. Programs include Tee Ball, Coach Pitch, baseball and softball, with additional clinics and programs planned throughout the year.

The program serves children ages 2 to 5, giving them a place to learn and grow while helping parents with the cost of child care. The program is free for Hialeah residents. Hialeah families received free food during a community distribution at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Mayor Bryan Calvo joined Councilwoman Melinda de la Vega and Farm Share for the event, with enough food available to serve up to 500 families. The City will continue working with community partners to bring more food distributions and resources to Hialeah families.
Las familias de Hialeah recibieron alimentos gratis durante una distribución comunitaria en la Iglesia Católica Immaculate Conception. El alcalde Bryan Calvo participó junto a la concejal Melinda de la Vega y Farm Share. Se distribuyeron alimentos para atender hasta 500 familias. THIRD TOWN HALL BRINGS RESIDENTS AND CITY LEADERS TOGETHER Mayor Bryan Calvo hosted the third Town Hall at the Milander Center, giving residents another opportunity to ask questions, raise concerns and hear directly from City leaders. The Mayor shared updates on the FY 2027 budget, lower water and sewer rates, street and drainage improvements, new LED streetlights and other work underway across Hialeah.
