APROBACIONES DE PERMISOS Residential permits are now being approved in as little as one to three days, while larger projects are averaging three to seven days for approval.

SEGURIDAD PÚBLICA Emergency response times are also improving. Out of more than 2,300 calls made to 911 in one week, 95 percent were answered in under 10 seconds.

CITY OFFERS A YEAR OF
Free Rent
The City of Hialeah is giving local businesses the chance to open at Palm Centre with one year of free rent. Through the new Palm Centre Business Opportunity Program, select businesses will be able to move into retail space at the city-owned property. The program is designed to help small businesses grow and bring more activity into the area.
“We want people with great business ideas to take the next step”, said Mayor Calvo. “Whether it’s a coffee shop, boutique, fitness studio or something completely different, we want to bring new businesses and new energy to our city.” The deadline to apply is June 12th.

RESIDENTS SIGN UP FOR HELP WITH CONDO-RELATED ISSUES The first DBPR Condo Office Hours at Hialeah City Hall filled up quickly by residents looking for direct help with condominium-related concerns. Residents met one-onone with representatives from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. Mayor Bryan Calvo launched the program through the City’s Condominium and Homeowners Association Advisory Task Force (CHAT) as part of his continued effort to bring these services directly to residents. The City of Hialeah hosted its first Small Business Mixer to connect local entrepreneurs and business owners for an evening of networking and collaboration. Business owners exchanged ideas, and learned more about resources available to support local businesses.

Mayor Calvo’s ‘Hialeah Mayor’s Cup’ is coming to Factory Town as part of a weekend of World Cup viewing events filled with soccer, music, food, and family activities. On Saturday, June 13th, youth soccer teams will compete for the Mayor’s Cup while fans gather to watch World Cup matches throughout the weekend. The free event will also include live entertainment, vendors, and activities for kids.
