On October 8, 2024, the City, in partnership with Corazon Healdsburg spent the evening visiting with community members at Harvest Grove apartments, Oak Grove apartments and the Monte Vina apartments. There was food, freebies and connection.
We want to thank Corazon Healdsburg and the members of the community who took time out of their Tuesday evening to spend it with City Staff.
Starting on Thursday, October 24, 2024, the City of Healdsburg Public Works Department will implement what’s called leading pedestrian interval (LPI) signal timing as a pilot study program for crosswalks at the traffic signal at Healdsburg Avenue and Front Street/Kennedy Lane. LPI gives pedestrians the opportunity to enter an intersection 3 to 7 seconds before vehicles are given a green indication. With this head start, pedestrians can better establish their presence in the crosswalk before vehicles have priority to turn. LPI provides the benefits of increased visibility of crossing pedestrians, reduced conflicts between pedestrians and vehicles, and increased likelihood of motorists yielding to pedestrians City staff will monitor effects of the LPI timing and operations at this traffic signal. Depending on the results of this intersection, LPI timing may be considered at additional traffic signals in the city. If you have questions or comments about this, please contact the Public Works Department at (707) 431-3346.
Over a year ago, at the direction of the City Council, staff disabled the old and outdated equipment that delivered slow internet via WIFIHEALDSBURG in and around Plaza Park while plans for enhanced Wi-Fi were being developed. The City's technology team, in partnership with Sonic (providing fiber to the plaza), has designed and installed new equipment to deliver free, highspeed public Wi-Fi to Plaza visitors.
Starting today, Plaza Park now offers enhanced public WiFi! Whether you're looking to stream your favorite content, stay connected with friends, or get some work done while enjoying the Plaza, our upgraded network has got you covered. Just connect to the "WIFIHEALDSBURG" network and enjoy seamless, high-speed internet access throughout the park.
Please note: The Wi-Fi signal is meant to cover the Plaza Park area only and will decrease quickly outside the Plaza.
