This week, students from Healdsburg High School participated in a tour of the City’s Water Reclamation Facility and Floating Solar Project. The tour was lead by Utilities Engineering Manager Patrick Fuss and Water and Wastewater Operations Superintendent Rob Scates. The tour included high school students interested in engineering and agriculture.
Staff walked students through the treatment process, explained how the City’s treats collected sewage to produce high quality recycled water for agricultural and urban irrigation.
Staff also discussed the floating solar project and its multiple benefits of reducing algae growth while also providing renewable energy for the City’s electric customers. Pictured is Patrick Fuss explaining the wastewater treatment process.
