RECYCLED WATER PIPELINE PROJECT

Under Construction

The City of Healdsburg (City) recently received a $7.1 million grant from the State of California to construct the Municipal Recycled Water Pipeline Project This project will help the City avoid using drinking water to irrigate large areas of turf. This allows more water to remain available for domestic purposes reducing the impacts of future droughts.

Construction started on 06/10/2024, along Kinley Drive and will be moving to Kennedy Lane on 06/13/2024 through 06/17/2024, then on to Healdsburg Ave and S. University Street through the end of June. In the following months the project will cross the SMART rails and traverse First Street to ultimately serve the Healdsburg Elementary School, Recreation Park, Tayman Park, Giorgi Park, and Oak Mound Cemetery The proposed overall route can be found on the project webpage www.healdsburg.gov/recycledwaterpipeline, as well as up to date information on the project schedule.

This project is anticipated to offset approximately 25 million gallons of potable water and is important for future drought resilience. We apologize for the temporary inconvenience this project may cause, and we truly appreciate your patience as we get this important work done. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to our project manager, Patrick Fuss, 707-217-3218, pfuss@healdsburg gov

HOUSING AND GMO FORUM

Join us on June 26th at the Healdsburg Community Center from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. to learn more about the Growth Management Ordinance (GMO) and the vision for housing in Healdsburg. Childcare, interpretation, and light refreshments will be provided.

This meeting will provide insights on how the GMO affects housing development, availability, and affordability in our community. We will discuss challenges and opportunities related to workforce housing, with input from city staff, local non-profits, and community members. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the proposed GMO ballot measure and to hear a variety of perspectives in an open forum where all opinions are welcome.

Your participation is important in shaping a sustainable and inclusive housing strategy for Healdsburg.

We look forward to seeing you there!

VEGETATION MANAGEMENT UPDATE

The Healdsburg Fire Department continues vegetation management and fuel reduction work

Our team has made significant progress in fuel reduction efforts near Gauntlet Road, in the foothills on the northeast side of down. We are now preparing for both pile burns and a prescription broadcast burn in this area These controlled burns are essential to reducing the risk of wildfires by safely removing excess vegetation.

Additionally, we are excited to announce that the top of Fitch Mountain is scheduled for a 3+ acre prescription (RX) burn. This marks the culmination of five years of diligent fuel reduction work aimed at preparing the mountain for this on future critical burns. This burn is a Cal-Fire supported burn

Scheduled Burns

July 1, 2024: Pile burn near Gauntlet Road, in the foothills above the area between March Avenue and Sunnyvale.

July 3, 2024: RX broadcast burn at the top of Fitch Mountain.

July 8, 2024: Broadcast RX burn near Gauntlet Road, in the foothills between March Avenue and Sunnyvale.

Please note that all burns are subject to weather conditions and resource availability and may be rescheduled if necessary.
