SMART STATION LOCATION UPDATE

On Tuesday night, at the City Council meeting, the City Council heard from numerous members of the community and weighed the pros and cons of two options for location of the future SMART rail station in Healdsburg After a thorough discussion, the Council opted to confirm past decisions to locate the station at the historic depot site on Hudson Street.

The City is encouraged by a number of recent grant awards that bring us closer than ever to a fully funded extension of the SMART system to Healdsburg. We are excited to continue our partnership with SMART and we can’t wait to welcome them to town as soon as possible.

BALL FIELD MAINTENANCE

In the midst of inclement weather, the infields have been expertly edged, and an impressive 25 yards of infield mix have been skillfully spread. Homeplate and the pitching mound have been meticulously prepared with clay, all while the facilities undergo thorough cleaning.

Come rain or shine, our committed Parks staff are putting in the effort! Despite the challenges brought by this month's downpours, they're working tirelessly to ensure our baseball fields are in top shape for all our enthusiastic baseball players.

Let’s go Healdsburg Baseball!

TREES DOWN AT HEALDSBURG RIDGE

Over the past two days, our Parks team made notable strides on the Healdsburg Ridge trails, successfully clearing six trees that fell during the weekend rains.

This focused effort aims to elevate the community's trail experience, guaranteeing safe and obstacle-free paths. So come out and embrace the outdoors and enjoy the beauty that surrounds us.

DOWNTOWN HOUSING CAPACITY STUDY

Thank you to everyone who attended the Downtown Housing Capacity study workshop last night

The City hosted a workshop to gather public input on the Downtown Housing Capacity Study. The Downtown Housing Capacity Study focuses on the Downtown Commercial (CD) and Service Commercial (CS) zoning districts. The goal of the study is to evaluate our existing codes, recent legislation, and State law to identify barriers to, and opportunities for, increased housing capacity in Healdsburg’s downtown area.

The study will help to illustrate how increased density and different housing types can fit in and enhance the existing downtown area.

Materials presented at the workshop can be found here.
