Ski Fit

Fall Prevention Plus

Prepare for the slopes with our 4-week twice per week Mobility & Strength program for Skiers and Snowboarders. This tailored fitness course focuses on building strength, stability, flexibility, and mobility to enhance performance and reduce the risk of injury on the mountain. Through dynamic exercises targeting key muscle groups, stability, and joint mobility, you’ll improve balance, power, and endurance, giving you the edge you need for a more confident and safer ride. Whether you’re a seasoned pro, beginner, or wanting to build the necessary fitness before starting to ski/snowboard, this program will help you feel stronger and move more efficiently on the snow!

Let’s take a proactive, well-rounded approach to maintaining quality of life and independence as we grow older!

This program is instructed by Laura Bruck Renzelman, a personal trainer and endurance coach with a lifelong passion for mountain sports. Laura understands both the joy and physical demands that snow sports place on the body as a skier herself and supporting her children who compete in free ride big mountain ski competitions around the country. As a dedicated endurance athlete, Laura is always looking for new challenges and has recently developed a passion for ski mountaineering racing. She has competed in the renowned Grand Traverse, a demanding backcountry race that tests both endurance and resilience in the alpine environment. *This 4-week program will run from November 3rd through December 3rd. The program will have Thanksgiving week off and finish the final week during the first week of December. Dates: November 3–December 3 Tuesday Times: 5:15–6:30 p.m. Fees: $120 (Resident) / $140 (Non-resident)

New this year is our “Plus” addition of the Fall Prevention program which will include a take-home exercise program that you can continue to use as homework throughout the program, as a reference guide after the program is completed, or whenever you choose! This program is instructed by Julie Mancuso, an ACSM certified exercise physiologist with over 30 years experience in group fit and personal training. She has an MS in sport medicine and is an affiliate faculty member in the exercise and sport sciences department at Metropolitan State University of Denver. There’s Something for Everyone at the Golden Community Center

Athletics and Adult Recreation Opportunities

Golden History Museum & Park

At the Golden Community Center, adult recreation goes far beyond the gym with seasonal outdoor sports and leagues that bring Golden’s active spirit to life. Adult leagues at Ulysses Park bring people together for classic summer fun through coed softball and kickball. You can also join organized volleyball, pickleball, tennis, and more, perfect for enjoying our parks, meeting neighbors, and having fun through friendly competition.

As a partner with the Golden Community Center, this local cultural treasure enriches programming by offering history-themed workshops, exhibits and camps that extend learning beyond the gym and pool. The Museum and Park offer free admission and host afterschool programs, school-break camps and hands-on experiences.

Inside, the GCC offers drop-in open gym, adult basketball pick-up games, and access to an elevated indoor track. If you prefer a class environment, you’ll find yoga, Pilates, spin, boot camps, Tai Chi, Zumba, and more to help build strength, flexibility, and balance.

Through GCC membership, families can combine recreation with culture, a full complementary package for kids and adults alike. Stop by to feed the chickens, take a spin in the newest gallery, or participate in one of many age-appropriate cultural programs.

Personal Training For personalized guidance, the GCC also offers one-onone sessions, train-with-a-friend options, and smallgroup training with certified pros who tailor workouts to your goals.
