Youth Activities Empowerment Scouts A program designed for youth of color in our community. Make friends, do STEAM activities (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) and go on field trips. Explore your identity and your world in a safe and supportive environment.

Take action in your community on issues that matter to you. Groups meet for six Saturdays in the fall and six Saturdays in the winter/spring.

Get Strong Stay Fit A class for mature adults to maintain or enhance mobility, balance and strength.

Class incorporates low-impact cardio, core training, muscular endurance and bone strengthening. Methods include safe, fun and effective exercises such as simple dance steps, yoga, balancing, stretching and hand-held weightlifting.

Individual modifications may include the use of a chair or wall to help with balance or personal limitations. The hour-long class includes short breaks for water and socializing.

They Aren’t Too Young: How to Talk to Kids of All Ages about Race It’s critical to start developing children’s skills in talking about race early in life.

In this workshop, we’ll discuss why these skills are so important, explore barriers and learn tips to overcome them. We’lll also discuss how conversations look for different age groups and provide resource lists for further education. This workshop is for anyone with kids in their life. Participants are invited to stay after the workshop and share a provided meal. Childcare will be available for children ages 3-12 (children must be potty trained).
