Wednesday, September 30 11:45 a.m. Skip the meal prep and join us for lunch, conversation, and community. Lunch with Friends brings people together each month for good food and an easy opportunity to connect with others at the Senior Center. $10 member, $15 non-member.

Na Leo Mokupuni Ma Cupertino

Saturday, October 3 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Na Leo Mokupuni ma Cupertino, Island Sounds in Cupertino, brings together performers from around to celebrate island music and dance. $5 for all attendees.

Hidden Treasures

Thursday, October 22 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The hunt is part of the fun! Hidden Treasures returns with hundreds of unique items to browse, from antiques and artwork to handknits, toys, glassware, jewelry, and more. Holidays in Hawaii

Wednesday, December 2 1 to 2:30 p.m. Sway with our own Lei Nani Hula Dancers and Pila Ho'Okani Band as they celebrate the holidays with Hawaiian songs and dances. Light refreshments will be served. Free for members, $5 for non-member and guests.

Holiday Ham Lunch

Friday, December 4 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Wear your favorite holiday sweater and join in a holiday meal including honey baked ham, mashed potatoes, green beans, salad, and pecan pie with whipped cream for dessert. Vegetarian option available when registering. $13 member, $18 non-member.

Holiday Sing-along

Monday, December 14 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. Sing holiday songs with the Harmonikatz Band. Light refreshments will be served. Free for member, $5 for non-member.

Season's Greetings Cookie Box

Pickup: Friday, December 18 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Pre-order Starts Monday, October 26 Quantities Limited Each box will contain a variety of cookies! MONDAY 50+ Pickleball - Fall Season

Monday, Sept 14 to Nov 16 8 to 11 a.m. Cupertino Sports Center Play doubles pickleball with fellow Senior Center members at the Cupertino Sports Center. Preregistration and a current Senior Center membership are required. Please bring your own paddles and balls; nets will be provided. Registration opens Monday, August 24 at 8 a.m. Season price $45.

Walking Social

Monday, 9 to 10 a.m. Memorial Park - Meet at Veteran's Memorial A volunteer will lead a walk through the park that includes a warm-up and a cool-down. Meet at the Veteran's Memorial inside the park.

50+ Golf

Monday, 10 a.m. Blackberry Farm Golf Course Tee off with fellow Senior Center members at the 9-hole Blackberry Farm Golf Course. Enjoy friendly rounds of golf in a relaxed atmosphere. All skill levels welcome. Green fees not included.

Ballroom Dance Social

Monday, 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Step onto the dance floor and enjoy an afternoon of ballroom dancing with friends. No partner required. Limited to 30 dancers reg4rec.org (408) 777-3150

Tuesday, 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Enjoy lively games of ping pong with other members. Great for fun, exercise, and friendly competition. Beginners and seasoned players welcome. Two ping pong tables are first come, first served. Limited to 25 players.

Tuesday, 9 a.m. Memorial Park - Tennis Courts 5 and 6 Drop in to play and exercise while being social and meeting other Cupertino Senior Center members.

Cupertino TV Production

First and third Tuesday, 10 a.m. to noon Join Cupertino TV Production and create a segment for the City channel, YouTube, and Roku. Must be a Senior Center member and volunteer to participate.

Open Game Play

Tuesday, Noon to 4 p.m. Drop in to play board or card games with fellow members. Some games are available, or bring your own to share.

Quilting Social

Tuesday, 1 to 4:30 p.m. Work on quilt projects, share tips, and enjoy friendly conversation. Must bring own sewing machine, tools, and fabric. Must preregistrater and be a Senior Center member to participate. More socials on the next page! 5

50+ Bocce Ball

Wednesday, April 1 to November 25, 9 to 11 a.m. Blackberry Farm - Court is located on the pathway to McClellan Enjoy the outdoors at Blackberry Farm alongside the Stevens Creek Trail while teaming up with fellow members playing bocce ball. First time players welcome, instructionsare available.

THURSDAY 50+ Softball

Thursday, April 2 to December 10 9 a.m. to noon Memorial Park Softball Field The Cupertino Sandlot softball group warms-up and take batting practice at 9 a.m. A pick-up game starts promptly at 10 a.m. each week. Must be a Senior Center member to participate. Price is $65 for the season.

Let’s Talk Technology

Thursday, 10 to 11 a.m. Join this group discussion to get answers, learn from others’ questions, and explore topics that matter most to the people in the room.

Conversations

Thursday, 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Engage in stimulating conversations on a variety of topics, from current events to thought-provoking themes. A welcoming space for lively discussion and new ideas.

Needlecraft

Thursday, 10 a.m. to noon Know how to knit or crochet and enjoy making blankets, scarves, and beanies? Become a volunteer to join our Needlecraft volunteer group to make knitted items for local homeless shelters and hospitals. Must be a Senior Center member and volunteer to participate.

Open Card Play and Bridge

Thursday, noon to 4 p.m. Join friends and fellow members for an afternoon of card playing. Whether you enjoy bridge or other card games, all players are welcome.

Karaoke Weekly Social

Book Club

Thursday, Sept 3, Oct 1, Nov 5, Dec 3 2 to 3 p.m. Read the monthly book and join a discussion, lead by the Cupertino Library. Those registered will be provided with a copy of the book to be read before the meeting date.

MONTHLY MOVIES

Thursday, 1 to 4:30 p.m. Sing your favorite songs and enjoy a fun afternoon of music and laughter with friends. All levels of singers welcome. *There will be no Monthly Movie in November

Alameda Adventures Thursday, September 17 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Discover the Pacific Pinball Museum and enjoy a docent-led tour before playing over 100 pinball machines spanning the 1940s to today while learning about the science, art, and culture of pinball. Then visit Alameda Marketplace to explore local vendors and enjoy a no-host lunch at your own pace. End the day at Almanac Beer Co. on historic Alameda Island for a guided tour and tasting before returning to the Cupertino Senior Center. Experience an unforgettable evening of culture, cuisine, and world-class performance by the world-renowned “Sukhishvili” National Ballet of Georgia! Begin your trip with a hearty and authentic dinner at Teske's Germania, serving traditional German dishes with a welcoming setting and touches of Oktoberfest spirit. Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row Wednesday, November 4 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Spend a magical day among frolicking sea otters, mesmerizing jellyfish, waddling penguins, swirling sardines, electric eels, an enchanting kelp forest, and much more. Step outside the aquarium to historic and picturesque Cannery Row, to browse shops and galleries, delight in delectable treats, and soak in the natural beauty of the area. Member Cost: $180 Includes Aquarium Tickets, Transportation, Tips, and Travel Staff. Activity Level: Moderate Walking at your own pace.

Holiday Poinsettias and Hilmar Cheese Company Wednesday, December 16 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Enjoy a private tour of Duarte Nursery, home to more than 60,000 colorful holiday poinsettias in over 30 varieties. Then visit Hilmar Cheese Company for a docent-led tour, a look at how cheese is made, and interactive exhibits about cows, dairies, and cheesemaking.

Case Management by Avenidas Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Sep 3, Oct 1, Nov 5, Dec 3 An Avenidas Care Manager will provide personalized support and help connect individuals to resources, benefits, and providers. They can offer guidance through the challenges that come with aging and help navigate an increasingly complex health care system.

Health Insurance Counseling (HICAP) Monday, 1 to 4 p.m. Sep 14, Oct 12, Nov 9 and 30, Dec 4 (Friday) HICAP provides no-cost counseling services and is funded by the California Department of Aging and Sourcewise. Find out what your options are with Medicare and what will work best for you. The Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program will help you understand your Medicare options to be better informed to make the right choices.

Caregiver Support Group Tuesday, 1 to 2:30 p.m. Sep 15, Oct 20, Nov 17, Dec 15 Caregiving is tough and you do not have to do it alone. Join other friends and family caregivers to learn about resources, share experiences, and enjoy a social outlet. Led by the Caregiver Network of Sourcewise, a Santa Clara County resource agency for seniors, the group is for caregivers of adults 60 and older or someone of any age with a dementia type disease (Huntington’s, early onset Alzheimer’s traumatic brain injury, etc.).

Senior Adult Legal Aid (SALA)

Friday, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sep 18, Oct 16, Nov 20, Dec 18 Free assistance to elders for basic legal matters in public benefits, long-term care, elder abuse, housing, consumer issues, incapacity planning probate alternative, and simple wills.
