There’s an old saying that variety is the spice of life, and just like everyone has a favorite ice cream flavor, everyone has their own idea of what makes life enjoyable. Whether your perfect day includes staying active, learning something new, getting creative, meeting new friends, or simply enjoying good conversation over a cup of coffee, we want to hear from you.
As Covington’s senior community continues to grow, we’re exploring new recreation programs, activities, and events designed with you in mind. But before we make plans, we want to learn what matters most to you. Would you enjoy fitness or wellness classes? Day trips to local attractions? Arts and crafts? Card games? Educational presentations? Outdoor walks? Technology classes? Volunteer opportunities? Or perhaps you have an idea we haven’t even considered. Bump, set, spike! This recreation league gives players the chance to learn the game, improve their skills, and enjoy friendly competition in a fun and supportive environment that emphasizes character, confidence, and community.

Get ready to kick off another exciting spring soccer season in Covington! We offer recreational players a great opportunity to build skills, learn the game, and enjoy the fun of friendly competition – all with a focus on building character, confidence, and community. Special Events TEEN NIGHTS AT THE POOL
The first Friday of every month is Teen Night at the pool! This popular evening program gives teens a fun, safe place to spend time with friends while enjoying games, swimming, and snacks. Participants can relax in the party room with board games, grab a snack from Neptune’s Cove, and enjoy open swim in the pool. All swimming abilities are welcome. Please bring a swimsuit and towel for the pool. The party room with snacks is open for teens from 7-10 p.m. and open swim is from 8-10 p.m. Age 13-19

We are pleased to offer a comprehensive program designed by the American Red Cross. Classes are offered for all ages and all ability levels.
WHAT CLASS IS RIGHT FOR YOU?
If your child has had lessons before or has some swimming experience, their swimming ability needs to be assessed to determine the appropriate level in our swim lesson program. We provide placement tests free of charge during our Public Swims. Ages 6 months-4 years 4-5 years 6-14 years 15+ years

Water Exercise Water exercise classes are great aerobic and cardiovascular workouts that will help you increase your cardiovascular endurance, improve your heart rate, and help lower cholesterol and blood pressure. All water exercise classes are 55 minutes long, and available on a drop-in basis on the days and times listed on the pool schedule.
WATERX BOOTCAMP
This class is for individuals who would like a low impact, but intense cardio, and muscle building workout, incorporating a mixed version of Shallow and Deep WaterX classes.
WATERX - SHALLOW AEROBICS
Classes located in the shallow end which utilizes aerobic and cardiovascular components. Being low-impact classes, they emphasize stretching, developing muscular strength, and developing range of motion.
WATERX - DEEP AEROBICS
Classes located in the deep end which give one of the greatest aerobic and toning workouts available with no impact to the body’s joints! These aerobic and cardiovascular classes provide muscular conditioning with particularly excellent core strengthening.

Neptune’s Cove, the Covington Aquatic Center’s party room accommodates up to 40 people. The party room can also be rented apart from the pool. Rentals are on the hour, and include 50 minutes of room use. Room use includes all set-up, party time and take-down. Reservations must be made prior to the rental. Facilities are booked by the hour and payment must be received at the time of the reservation. To make a reservation, contact the Covington Aquatic Center at (253) 480-2480.
