We have planned another great year of events and programs in Chesterfield for 2016! Music lovers will enjoy the great line-up of musicians at our free Sounds of Summer Concert Series and Art & Orchestra Music Series.

Families will delight in summer evenings watching all the great movies underneath a blanket of stars at the Chesterfield Amphitheater. Older adults can meet new friends on the pickleball court or at our Senior Sizzler events. The fields at the Chesterfield Valley Athletic Complex will be busy hosting league play and tournaments all season long and the Chesterfield Family Aquatic Center is the place to be this summer with water slides and a competition pool that makes the hottest summer day feel like a vacation.

2015 was a big year for us in terms of expansion. We opened our newest park, River’s Edge, in April and offered canoeing, paddle boarding and kayaking classes suited for all of the active outdoor enthusiasts. We also added Arts to the Division in an effort to make art accessible to the community so that the public may expand its experience, awareness, sensitivity, enjoyment and understanding of art. Our three new sculptures, Yue Ling Chen, Large Bather III and the Coyote, help to establish our City as a showcase for public art. Check out our app for details on the sculptures.

Our maintenance staff is hard at work to keep our parks beautiful; please take a moment to appreciate their efforts.

It’s important for us to offer programs and events suited for all members of our community. We offer healthy athletic programs for all ages and a wide variety of activities. We encourage our residents and visitors to download our app to receive up-to-date information on our events, programs and weather-related notifications. With three state-of-the-art facilities, over 488.5 acres of park land and 23 miles of running, walking and biking trail routes, Chesterfield has become a prime location for entertainment, recreation, art and leisure.

CAPRA RE-ACCREDITATION The Chesterfield Parks, Recreation & Arts Division will be seeking their 1st re-accreditation from CAPRA (Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies) this summer. Details about the re-accreditation will be included in the Fall Guide this August.

The Chesterfield Parks, Recreation & Arts Division was honored to achieve accreditation from the Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA) in 2011. Chesterfield Parks, Recreation & Arts is one of only four accredited agencies within the State of Missouri and only one of one hundred within the entire United States.

arts & entertainment VETERANS HONOR PARK TO BREAK GROUND IN 2016!

The City of Chesterfield and the Veterans Honor Park Committee is looking forward to announce plans to move forward on the construction of the Veterans Honor Park.

The Veterans Honor Park Committee has raised $500,000 in donations and the City has committed to match an additional $500,000 for the construction. The City also received a grant of approximately $525,000 from the St. Louis County Municipal Parks Grant Commission. The project will be completed in two phases. RECYCLE SHOES-SAVE LIVES! The City of Chesterfield, in partnership with Shoeman Water, is helping to provide safe water to people around the world by hosting a shoe drive in 2016. Shoes of any size and in new or gently used condition can be dropped off at various locations listed below. The shoes will be donated to Shoeman Water, an organization that collects shoes to fund water projects around the world. For more information about Shoeman Water, visit shoemanwater.org.

THE LIVE ART PROJECT Saturday, April 9 • City Hall • 6 p.m. • FREE to attend

Sign up for our new Art in the Park Summer Workshops! Students will have to register ahead of time and bring their own art supplies for each workshop. FREE • Dail Chambers Collage in the park takes a closer look at nature scenes, people and media material to create beautiful images. Participants will draw inspiration from the surrounding park area and are asked to bring material from magazine clippings, old photos, scrapbook paper, and small natural elements from the environment. Each person will create one abstract or representational work of art. It is open to all levels of artistry. Registration deadline is May 12.

Twisted Belly’s BBQ Blowout is coming to the Chesterfield Amphitheater the first weekend in April as the second leg of the Budweiser BBQ Series! Competitors will prepare chicken, ribs, pork and brisket worthy of a $10,000 grand prize. There will be FREE music entertainment and samples will be available for purchase from several different competing teams, along with beer, soda, water and liquor. 4TH OF JULY FIREWORKS CELEBRATION Monday, July 4 • 7 p.m. • Chesterfield Mall • FREE TO ATTEND Come join us for the 4th of July Fireworks Celebration that has grown to be the biggest and best fireworks show in the metropolitan area, presented by the City of Chesterfield and sponsored in part by Sachs Properties and Chesterfield Mall. The main viewing area will be in the west parking lot near Dillard’s and Macy’s at Chesterfield Mall. The Main Stage will present a FREE concert starting at 7 p.m. Come and enjoy listening and dancing to the music until the fireworks show begins at 9:30 p.m. Kids Zone activities will be sponsored by Commerce Bank.

The celebration will also feature food trucks and a variety of children’s activities all night long. Lawn chairs, blankets, outside food, beverages and coolers are allowed (NO GLASS, please). No tobacco products.

Registration is open for the 2016 CROC Swim Team! All children between the ages of 5-18 who want to be on a swim team come join in the fun this summer! This swim team promotes a fun and positive environment for all swimmers. The Chesterfield Swim Team is a recreational team with an emphasis on developing basic competitive swim skills, while having fun and making new friends. The Swim Team will compete against other teams in the Southwest St. Louis County Municipal Swim League.

Swimming offers something no other aerobic exercise does: the ability to work your body without harsh impact to your skeletal system.

SUPY (YOGA) This class will cater to all levels whether you’re a newbie or seasoned yogi. Put down your paddle for a 45 minute yoga flow that will challenge you or relax you.

For those of you that are 55 or older, the Senior Sizzlers gives you the opportunity to join other Chesterfield residents, members of the West County Family YMCA, and different organizations that have programs for seniors.

Every week, the Senior Walking Club will meet at a new park and walk the trail to see and learn about native trees, plants and wildlife. Attendance will be taken each week. If you attend all four weeks of walking, you will receive a two-day pass to the River Walk Club at the Chesterfield Family Aquatic Center!

The beautiful amphitheater is an intimate venue that combines stylish, modern architecture and state-of-theart audio technology with community charm. The amphitheater has hosted a variety of talent including Frankie Ballard, Diamond Rio, Edwin McCain, Scotty McCreery and Kenny Loggins.

This 176 acre complex in the Valley consists of 16 ball diamonds, 14 multipurpose fields (soccer, football, lacrosse and Ultimate Frisbee), 14 baseball/ softball practice fields, 4 concession buildings, 2 playgrounds and 4 parking lots. These fields are utilized for organized play such as youth and adult leagues, tournaments, camps and clinics.

Scream your way down thrilling water slides, enjoy a relaxing float around a lazy river, or dive into a competition pool at the Chesterfield Family Aquatic Center. The City of Chesterfield purchased this 18-acre site from the Eberwein family several years ago for the purposes of developing a community park. This park is named after the Eberwein family who first settled in Chesterfield over 100 years ago. The Eberwein family used this land as a farm and their residence up until the time of purchase by the City. To preserve the history, character, and charm of the site, the Eberwein Park was designed as a passive community park with a farm-like theme. To accomplish this, the existing large red barn, which was originally constructed in the early 1900s, has been preserved.

ART IN THE PARK “The Coyote” is a life-size bronze sculpture depicting a coyote standing in heightened awareness of his surroundings. Harry Weber created the sculpture as part of a large diorama with the famous Lewis and Clark sculpture depicting their journey across the river as the coyote watches with full attention. There are separate areas for small and large dogs.

The Dog Park is open to residents ONLY and each dog must wear their own dog park tag. Dog tags for each dog are $30 and are available at City Hall during normal business hours or for online registration, please go to chesterfield.mo.us/ eberweindogpark.html. To register your dog, you will need to have documentation that the dog has been spayed or neutered, proof of residency and rabies records for each dog. Dogs younger than four months are not allowed in the Dog Park.

NATIVE PRAIRIE GARDEN Eberwein Park has an interactive native prairie that provides quality habitat and food sources for local wildlife, especially our pollinators. The Chesterfield Parks, Recreation & Arts Division received a Community Stewardship Grant through the Missouri Department of Conservation to create the prairie that will also incorporate walking paths throughout, and provide opportunities for learning about the plants, animals, and insects that share our parks.

parks, facilities & trails W.F. DIERBERG MEDITATION PARK 13701 Olive Boulevard The W.F. Dierberg Meditation Park is a 2-acre park that features walking paths, open green space, park benches, a butterfly garden and a fountain.

facility rentals MONARCH-CHESTERFIELD LEVEE TRAIL A portion of the trail is closed west of the CVAC and will reopen June 1.

The Monarch-Chesterfield Levee Trail is an 11 mile long trail that will encompass the majority of commercial, industrial and recreational land uses in Chesterfield Valley. Due to construction on the Daniel Boone Bridge, a portion of the trail is closed until June 1. Once the Daniel Boone Bridge reopens, there will be a pedestrian bike path across the bridge connecting to the Katy Trail that will increase the exceptional trail riding experience for over 250 miles.

WETLANDS TRAILS 17925 North Outer 40 Road The City currently operates and maintains 43 acres of wetland area, located on the east side of the A5 field at the CVAC on the north side of the levee, which consists of a nature trail and boardwalk.

FACILITY RENTALS Reservation permits for the use of the Chesterfield Family Aquatic Center and the Central Park Pavilion can be obtained at City Hall, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday. No phone reservations will be accepted. Please call 636.812.9500 for more information on the use of the Chesterfield Amphitheater, Family Aquatic Center, Athletic Complex and the CVAC Party Package. Reservations must be made two weeks prior to the rental date. Damage/security deposit is required on all reservations.

CHESTERFIELD AMPHITHEATER The amphitheater can host a variety of theatrical, musical, educational, corporate events and is perfect for hosting a wedding. With 304 fixed seats and the ability to hold around 4,000 overall, as well as the 4,200 sf performance platform, the amphitheater is equipped to host large or small events.

Set within Central Park, the Chesterfield Amphitheater is an intimate and stylish venue that combines state-of-the-art audio technology and modern architecture with community charm. The gazebo behind the amphitheater is also available for a small gathering for events.

The Complex is a gated facility and is only open during scheduled activities.

Birthday parties must be reserved at least two weeks in advance and be paid in full at time of booking. No party reservations on holidays. There are three Birthday Party Packages to choose from and all packages include two hours in the party area. These packages include from 12 to 25 guests and they range in price for residents/general from $125 to $285.

CENTRAL PARK PAVILION & GAZEBO Permits for use of the pavilion and gazebo may be obtained at City Hall. The Pavilion and Gazebo are available seven days a week from 9 a.m. to dusk, all year round for our residents and Chesterfield businesses only. A $100 security deposit is required.

This 33 acre park is currently undeveloped, and will ultimately be used for passive recreation opportunities. Currently there is a grass-mowed trail there for use that is close to a mile in length just off the Monarch Levee Trail.

RAILROAD PARK 17410 Edison Avenue

The Riparian Trail is a half mile long and is part of a threephase plan to construct a pedestrian/bike path, which will begin near the Chesterfield Family Aquatic Center and will extend to Old Chesterfield Road. Parking is available at the Aquatic Center parking lot. Download the mobile app for updates.

CHESTERFIELD FAMILY AQUATIC CENTER (CFAC) The Aquatic Center is available for rental from 8:15 p.m.-11 p.m. on FridaysSundays during the pool season. A $200 security damage deposit is required for reservations. All Chesterfield Family Aquatic Center rules are applicable to private parties. For rates, please visit chesterfield.mo.us.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION All registrations are taken on a first-come, first-served basis.

See specific program descriptions for registration details and class minimums and maximums. Registrations can be made in person by visiting City Hall, located at 690 Chesterfield Parkway West during business hours.

Online registration is available for most programs and to renew season pool passes. For information on the process, please go to chesterfield.mo.us and follow registration instructions.

CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICIES Twenty-five percent (25%) of the registration fee will be charged to cover administrative and processing costs. The City will process all refunds according to the bill-paying schedule.

There will be no cash refunds. No refunds will be made except: • When a class/program/special event is canceled or closed by the Parks, Recreation & Arts Division due to low enrollment or other circumstances. In this case, the City will provide a 100% refund.

• When the refund is requested at least fourteen (14) days in advance of the class/program/special event, provided it does not reduce the proper participation level below the required minimum.

• When participants become ill (you must present a doctor’s statement) and notify the Parks, Recreation & Arts Division.

FEES & CHARGES POLICY The City of Chesterfield Parks, Recreation & Arts Division prides itself on providing a wide variety of recreational services to its citizens. The Division recognizes its responsibility to provide recreational opportunities that contribute toward the quality of life in Chesterfield. Realizing that tax dollars alone should not subsidize programs and facilities, fees and charges have been established to help offset existing costs. The prime objective of these guidelines is to develop a policy to efficiently direct our Division toward a more consistent and effective method of establishing fees and charges while, at the same time, maintaining a high degree of equity for Chesterfield citizens.
