It means new programs, new events, new ideas…..while keeping familiar traditions and resident favorites alive and well in our community. Let’s take a glimpse at what 2020 will bring.

Our three state-of-the-art facilities, over 567 acres of parkland and 23 miles of running, walking and biking trail routes, are there to provide residents with entertainment, recreation, art and leisure, all in their backyard. Parks maintenance staff works hard to keep our facilities and parks beautiful and safe, for all our events and programs, as well as general community enjoyment.

Youth Soccer League, which had a fantastic start in 2019. The league is Policies Page 32 a great opportunity for residents and non-residents to get their kiddos involved in local sports in the spring and fall. Adult Softball leagues are Calendar of Events Page 33 still a favorite for the older athletes, with spring and fall options, as well. Shamrock 5k/10k and Lil’ Leprechaun Run and the Stars and Stripes 5k/10k and Fun Run also take place at CVAC, and are part of our Holiday Run Series, which also includes the Turkey Trot 5k and Fun Run. Runners and walkers participating in all three events can earn a special shirt, medal and discount on all three races. Looking for something to do in the warmer months? We’ve got you covered! The Chesterfield Family Aquatic Center hosts tot-time each week, with a fun themed morning at the pool for the younger swimmers. No younger kids in the family – no worries, we also have diving clinics, swim team, swim lessons, water polo, water aerobics, and of course, resident favorite – river walking club. And that’s just to name a few aquatic programs and events!

Once you’re done at the pool, head over to the Chesterfield Amphitheater to enjoy one of our free Sounds of Summer concerts or a ticketed concert for one of the rockin’ bands/artists to be announced this summer! The ChAmp is the perfect summer setting with amazing acoustics for your first or 100th concert. And don’t miss our FREE outdoor movies! From fitness classes and informational seminars to fun day trips and themed bingo - our Older Adult programs provide activities that set levels meeting the needs of varying ages. Stay up to date with our events, programs and announcements by signing up for one of our email blasts. We have one for general active residents, one for older adults, and one for youth events. You can find more information on how to sign up at chesterfield. mo.us/e-newsletters.html. Another way to stay up to date is on our Chesterfield Parks app, where you will receive convenient up-to-date information on our events, programs and weather-related notifications. As always, please feel free to contact me with questions, concerns and suggestions. Otherwise, I hope to see you out and about enjoying our parks, events and recreation facilities, public art and programs with your family and friends.

RIVER’S EDGE PARK - North of The District

Trails • Recreation Programs • Shelter • Picnic Benches • Lake • Fishing • Restrooms • Boardwalks This peaceful 188-acre passive park is conveniently located near the heart of Chesterfield Valley, but is tucked quietly away from the bustling retail commerce just south of the Missouri River. To access the heart of the park, visitors walk less than 1/4 mile on a crushed limestone trail before the trail opens up to a beautiful lake surrounded by a wall of mature trees on every side. The trail continues around the entire 1.6 mile circumference of the lake and branches off to one boardwalk and a mulched trail. The park offers a convenient boating dock attached to a park shelter for fishing enthusiasts. The Parks, Recreation & Arts Department has provided the copious amount of fish that occupy the lake. River’s Edge Park parking is in the shared parking lot on the western edge of the Taubman Prestige Outlets. The park is open year-round from sunrise to sunset.

EBERWEIN PARK - 1627 Old Baxter Rd.

Trail • Dog Park • Public Art Community Garden • Playground • Picnic Benches • Barn • Native Prairie Garden • Restrooms This park is named after the Eberwein family who first settled in Chesterfield years ago. The Eberwein family used this land as a farm and their residence up until the time of purchase by the city. To preserve the history, character, and charm of the site, the Eberwein Park was designed as a passive community park with a farm-like theme. To accomplish this, the existing large red barn, which was originally constructed in the early 1900s, has been preserved.
