ANTIGUO LOBO

Tequila bar and restaurant, Antiguo Lobo (“old wolf”) pays homage to the owner’s late father, who immigrated to Atlanta from Jalisco, Mexico and founded several restaurants in the Area (the first one being in Chamblee). CHINATOWN MALL

At the heart of the 55,000 square feet of Chinatown Mall lies a food court, however, traditional the words “mall” and “food court” are, know that this is a very unique spot in Chamblee that holds a special place in many local’s hearts. CRAWFISH SHACK

In Anthony Bourdain’s words when he visited during one of his trips to Atlanta: “Down the Yellow Brick Road, the Cajun-style, Asian mutation Crawfish Shack Seafood...Deep-fried fish, low country boils. Not your typical Cajun, but oh so good.” Crawfish Shack serves up Louisiana seafood classics such as delicious catfish battered in cornmeal, po’ boys; peel-andeat shrimp; sweet hush puppies; and succulent, crimsom-red boiled crawfish — with a hint of Vietnamese cuisine.

GU’S KITCHEN

Chef Gu may be the ultimate comeback story of Buford Highway. After opening a restaurant in 2010 that developed a cult following and then retiring five years later, Chef Gu decided that he missed cooking and opened Gu’s Kitchen in 2018. The husband-and-wife team serves up quality recipes originating from Chengdu, the capital of China’s Sichuan province. The Zhongstyle dumplings are from a 100-year old recipe and made fresh daily.

THE HALAL GUYS
