Ekey TO Serve as New City Administrator

EKEY TO SERVE AS NEW CITY ADMINISTRATOR

After a lengthy and diligent nationwide search, Mayor Carson Ross has selected Mike Ekey as the City’s next City Administrator. The City Council approved the appointment at the Monday, April 18 City Council Meeting.

“I am confident in Mike’s ability to lead our community as the next City Administrator. As a resident of Blue Springs, Mike already has a passion for our beautiful City and he has the experience and enthusiasm to take us to the next level,” said Mayor Carson Ross.

Ekey has most recently served as the Assistant City Manager of Raymore, Mo., where he led strategic planning initiatives, the development of the annual budget and Capital Improvement Programs and spearheaded economic development initiatives.

"When my family moved to Blue Springs several years

ago, I never imagined I'd have the opportunity to join the incredible team at City Hall. I am thrilled to be working with the Mayor, City Council and staff, and look forward to serving the residents of our great community each and every day" Ekey said. As City Administrator, Ekey will work under the

direction of the Mayor and City Council to oversee City operations including strategic planning, direction, personnel management and budget preparation.

Ekey’s start date will be May 31.
