Overcoming Challenges
This spring and summer has been an extremely challenging time for our country and community. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit and threw Jackson County into a Stay-At-Home order in March, we were unprepared and unsure of what would come.
But I am proud to say, we are Blue Springs Strong. Our community is in the midst of recovery - both economic and socially. We are seeing businesses open back up after shutting their doors to weather the COVID storm and some activities are beginning to resume. Sure, life looks a little different. We are getting use to wearing masks everywhere and we still need to be mindful of spreading this virus to those in our community who are most at risk. But I am thankful that we have seen our residents and community coming together to support our local businesses and organizations who have been hit hardest during this pandemic.
In this issue, we are introducing #BlueSpringsStrong, a series of stories about local businesses and organizations who have been hit hard, but are still pushing through the challenges to bring their services to our community. The three stories highlighted in this issue of the Blue Springs Magazine are just the beginning. You can follow more stories on our social media pages, at the Blue Springs Chamber of Commerce website at www.bluespringschamber.com/bluespringsstrong and in the Examiner.
I am proud serve as Mayor of this wonderful community, and I urge you to continue to stay safe, and stay strong as we continue to recover from this pandemic.

Gratefully in your service,Mayor Carson Ross
