Welcome to the New MAYC Program Coordinator

We are rolling out the welcome mat for Sharon Severson, our brand-new program coordinator at the Mary Ann Young Center! Sharon is excited to work with local seniors in this community that she calls home. She feels that joining the MAYC community is her “dream job”. With lots of energy, great ideas, and a genuine love for bringing people together, Sharon will be imagining up fun, connection, and maybe even a little laughter. Sharon joins us with a passion for community engagement and a strong interest in creating meaningful, enjoyable programs for older adults. In this role, she will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supporting a wide range of activities designed to keep local seniors active, connected, and engaged.

Before joining our team, Sharon has spent time working at a senior living community in Robbinsdale as their life enrichment specialist and looks forward to getting to know the MAYC seniors and learning what matters most to them. In addition, Sharon spent 23 years at a local non-profit called Junior Achievement, as a program director.

When not at work, Sharon enjoys playing pickleball, working on Sudoku puzzles, and game nights with family and friends. Spending time at the family cabin or with her adult children, her beloved dog Zoey, and handsome grandpup Niko are some of her favorite pastimes.

Please join us in giving Sharon a warm welcome! Be sure to stop by to say hello next time you are at the Mary Ann Young Center, as she is very excited to meet you all.
