Loving the MAYC Life

Two new members Donald Kirksey and Larry Bunko have found the fun at the Mary Ann Young Center. After being told about the warm and friendly lunches served Monday through Friday these two each made their way over to MAYC to meet new people and socialize daily.

Donald, a Blaine resident since 1973, is a fan of the MAYC Variety Show where he performed guitar and vocal solos this last spring. Donald is planning to perform new songs he is working on now at the upcoming fall variety show. His new MAYC friends have been encouraging him and offering up suggestions for his new song lyrics.

Larry, an Army veteran, was told he would enjoy the lunches at MAYC, and he found that to be very true. Larry spreads the love with his 1-4-3 sign that he displays proudly. The sign means “I love you” and often makes people smile and return the kindness.

Both new members are grateful for the interesting people and fun activities they enjoy at the Mary Ann Young Center. They both would encourage others to stop by for lunch and register for a program where they will be welcomed with kindness.
