1. Food Consumption Information: Consuming delicious food may induce unexpected happiness, smiles, contentment, and fullness of belly. Be sure to explore all available cuisines.

2. Meal Insurance: Does your insurance apply overseas, including restaurant over indulgence, payment to a food vendor or stands overseas, or reimbursement to you later? If not, don’t worry, its worth it.

3. Avoid Offending International Chefs: Remember, while in a foreign country, you are subject to its cuisine. Penalties for refusing food of international origins, even unknowingly, can be more sever than at traditional U.S. drive through establishments. Discrimination between fries and chips, kabobs and skewers, may not be tolerated. If you find yourself in trouble, or desperately hungry, head for nearest food vendor and try something new!

4. Illegal Foods: Do not carry meals abroad, they are best when eaten fresh. Penalties for the possession or trafficking in illegal foods, even unknowingly, are strict and offenders can expect angry glares and side-eyed glances. Sharing with family and friends is permitted.

5. Food Abduction: Avoid becoming a target. Do not leave meals unattended, and do not carry excessive amounts of food or unnecessary condiments. You do not need to put ketchup on everything. Be aware of your surroundings, as your food may be susceptible to pigeon or sneaky siblings.

6. Spills and other catastrophic events: If a catastrophic event occurs, obtain napkins and clean immediately. If you require assistance, contact the nearest Johns Creek Embassy (Festival Employee). In cases of extreme spiciness and intense flavor, consume plain bread and/or milk to help counteract the effects.

7. Culture and Customs: After the arduous task of visiting vendors, enjoying performances, and deciding on the varied cultural cuisines, it is acceptable in many cultures to relax with a pint or glass of wine. You are invited and encouraged to enjoy the many cultures and customs how you see fit.

8. Loss of Appetite: Under certain circumstances, you may lose your appetite by performing voluntarily with the intention to relinquish your appetite, any of the following acts: (1) consuming an extensive amount of bread before a meal; (2) drinking an excessive amount of any beverage, though this will result in the eventual reinstatement of appetite; or (3) eating before attending the International Festival, but who would do that? *Copy adapted from work by Brooke Foti 5

Main Stage Hosts Mara Davis Born in New York and raised in Miami, Davis has called Atlanta home for over 20 years.

She is a social media fanatic, restaurant enthusiast, dog lover and awkward selfiegetter (she once met President Obama and told him to laugh for the photo… he did.)

A personality known for her humor, honesty and love of pop culture, she came to Atlanta for the classic rock station, Z-93 that became Dave-FM. She created the popular “Radio Free Lunch” a daily thematic radio request show. Throughout her radio and TV career she’s interviewed celebrities and chefs including Alton Brown, Adele, Bradley Cooper, Robert Plant, Jane Fonda and won several “Best Of Atlanta” spots in Creative Loafing and Atlanta Magazine.

Mara Davis is a television and radio personality, emcee, brand ambassador and one of the most well known media personalities in Atlanta. Davis is currently the co-host of Atlanta Eats, a TV show about dining in Atlanta. She potushosts Atlanta Eats radio, a weekly talk show about the Atlanta food scene.

Davis is the music and food contributor for Atlanta’s NPR-WABE-FM. Davis has worked with Frye Boots, Woo Cosmetics, Whole Foods Market, The Village Vets and Karoo Glasses being a brand ambassador. Recently, she launched the Atlanta build out for Tastemade, a global food community connecting the world through food.

Mara is a well known emcee who has hosted events for Taste Of Atlanta, The Georgia Restaurant Association, Delta Airlines, City of College Park, Pastry Live, 30A Songwriters Festival, Bloomingdales, JDRF, Kate’s Club, The Atlanta Humane Society, the Atlanta Film Festival and many more. Davis is the go to Atlanta celebrity interviewer and moderator who’s worked with Andy Cohen, Giada De Laurentiis and best selling author Emily Giffin.

Mara lives in the Virginia Highland area of Atlanta with her husband Mike and son Charlie.

Cleve Gaddis Cleve Gaddis is currently the managing partner and broker of Gaddis Partners, RE/MAX Center, one of the top 10 real estate sales teams in the State of Georgia for over a decade, closing an average of $60 million in sales volume annually.

Cleve also hosts the weekly “Call Cleve Atlanta Real Estate Show� on NewsTalk 1160 at noon every Sunday and 2 PM on Tuesdays.

His unique perspectives on real estate, sales and marketing make him an in-demand speaker throughout the U.S. in the areas of investing, sales and marketing, negotiating, property management and distressed asset disposition. Cleve is frequently quoted in local and national media and presents annual market updates to real estate trade associations.

Cleve holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management and International Marketing, graduating Summa Cum Laude from Northwood University in Chicago. A native of Atlanta, Cleve currently resides in Johns Creek, GA with his wife, Michelle, and four daughters aged 16 to 21. The Gaddis family is actively involved in Northpoint Community Church and was a founding member of John Creek Beautification, the Johns Creek Economic Development Corporations and a past President of the Johns Creek Community Association. He is also speaker, trainer and a master coach with Workman Success Systems.

He also serves as the president of Sure Realty, Inc., a property management company, and as the general manager of Atlanta Residential Properties, LLC, a real estate investment firm.

Shafiq Jadavji Shafiq is a Financial Advisor with Principal where he works with growing businesses and professionals to create transformational wealth and retirement.

Shafiq is an engaged member of the Johns Creek community.

Currently, Shafiq serves as a Board Member for the Johns Creek Arts Center and was recently appointed to the Recreation and Parks Advisory Committee by the John Creek City Council.

Shafiq also participated in the 2016 Leadership Johns Creek program and served as a mentor for the 2017 class.

Shafiq holds a MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University and a BS from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He lives in Johns Creek with wife, Reena, and daughters, Simran and Inaara.
