Johns Creek Recreation and Parks enriches the quality of life for the Johns Creek community by providing recreational, educational and wellness programs within facilities, parks, and natural open spaces. Johns Creek is committed to enhancing the well being of its residents and visitors through comprehensive recreation and park programs, facilities, and services. The Recreation & Parks Division maintains over 400 acres of parkland and nature preserves. In addition to the city’s four main parks, the city is working to add two new pocket parks, one new neighborhood park, and two new large parks. Programming within the parks includes activities and sports for youth and people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds.

Registration: Online

Registration - Refund Policy

Residents and non-residents are able to register for programs, rent park facilities, and take virtual tours of the parks by visiting www.JohnsCreekGA.gov.

Non-Resident Fee Policy

Registration can be completed online (for most programs) or in-person at Park Place (senior center) located inside Newtown Park. Returned checks are subject to a $35 fee. Refund requests must be in writing and are subject to approval by Recreation & Parks staff. A $20 processing fee will apply to most refunds. When applicable, no refunds for programs will be issued after the first class. Refunds are issued either by check or by reversing credit card charges (but may take up to 30 days for processing). There are no cash refunds.

Non-residents will pay an increased fee of 50% for most City of Johns Creek programs and facility rentals. Non-resident fees are collected from participants that participate in Johns Creek programs that do not live within the City limits. The City’s “Parks without Borders” partnership with the City of Alpharetta waives non-resident fees in youth softball, youth baseball, and youth lacrosse.

Photography and Video Policy

Interested in renting a park facility? The City offers pavilions, tennis courts, amphitheater, and the Newtown Park Community Clubhouse for rental use. For more info, visit the registration page on the City website at www.johnscreekga.gov.

Johns Creek Recreation & Parks Division may photograph or videotape registrants, participants, and spectators in our programs, special events, or facilities. Such photographs are for City use only and may be used in publications, brochures, pamphlets, flyers, websites, or video productions.

Commercial Use Policy Johns Creek City Code does not allow solicitation or commercial activity in our City park facilities without a permit. Coaching, teaching, or working with individuals (children, teens, adults) for pay is considered commercial activity. To obtain a permit, please contact Kirk Franz, Recreation Manager at 678-512-3200.

Cancellation Policy

Special Event Cancellation

Special Event cancellations caused by inclement weather, etc. will be posted on the City website at www.JohnsCreekGA.gov and on social media (Facebook and Twitter).

Any classes/programs not meeting minimum enrollment requirements may be postponed or cancelled. If your class/program is cancelled, you will be notified. A full refund will be given for cancelled classes/programs.

Easter Egg Dash Spring is in the air and the City of Johns Creek is eggcited to host our annual Easter Egg Dash for children ages 10 and younger. Enjoy games, activities, and photos with the Easter Bunny. Please bring a basket to collect eggs and a camera for photos.

Fulton Golden Games

Summer Concert Series

The 26th annual Fulton Golden Games is a collaborative effort by Fulton cities and provides a month-long series of Olympicstyle events and activities (such as shot put, one-mile run, pickleball, shuffle board, swimming, and bowling) for Fulton County adults age 50 and older. Participants may also compete in track and field events, bridge and canasta tournaments, billiards, bocce tournament, and more.

Enjoy live music at the Johns Creek Summer Concert Series! This free family friendly concert series is held at Newtown Park at the Mark Burkhalter Amphitheater. Food, beer, and wine are available for purchase. Reserved table seating is also available for each concert. Visit JohnsCreekGA.gov for reservations.

Independence Day Celebration Celebrate our country’s independence at Newtown Park with a live concert by the group Block Party Experience, fun activities, food, and an exceptional fireworks display! Patriot Day September 11 Commemoration In conjunction with the Rotary Club – Johns Creek North Fulton, the annual Patriot Day September 11 Commemoration is a time of remembrance and reflection. The event honors the service and sacrifices of first responders and military personnel and includes a moment of silence and ringing of a memorial bell in honor of the fallen. Date:

Clubhouse Fitness The Johns Creek Recreation & Parks Division offers adult fitness classes to help you get in shape, stay energized, and maintain a healthy lifestyle. All classes are held at the Newtown Community Clubhouse located at Newtown Park and are taught by certified instructors. All fitness levels are welcome. Space is limited; please register early. Attendees must be age 16 or older at the time of the class. For a detailed schedule, class fees, and to register, please visit JohnsCreekGA.gov.

Pickleball Courts Come check out one of the fastest growing sports in the nation‌.Pickleball! Pickleball is played on a small court and is a combination of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong. Four Pickleball courts with paddles and balls are located next to the tennis courts at Newtown Park and are available on a first come-first served basis. Dates:

Park Place

Park Place at Newtown School offers a variety of fun, educational and socially engaging activities for Johns Creek residents age 62+. Programs include fitness classes such as yoga, Zumba and Silver Sneakers/Flex programs, which are funded by participating insurance companies to provide certified instructors who offer free fitness classes for those eligible. Free/low cost activities include lunch & learns, movies, potluck birthday celebrations, bocce, book club, bridge, canasta, supper club, knitting/crocheting, art and cooking workshops, technology support, day trips and more.

Adaptive Recreation

The Johns Creek Recreation & Parks Division offers programs and events to enrich the lives of people with disabilities. Our Adaptive Recreation Programs & Events are designed to expose participants to new experiences; enhance self-esteem, self-confidence, and independence; and promote community involvement.
