City Cricket Academy was established by former first class cricketer, Don Bhagawati, in 2006 Two years later, CCA’s main coaching facility was opened by former England skipper, Mike Gatting Since then, we have gained and continue to develop, an enviable reputation in cricket coaching within the UK and abroad

Your group will have the benefit of a state-of-the-art, six-lane cricket centre. This, together with our own ground at Hinckley, close links with established local cricket clubs and outstanding school facilities means that we can offer all-weather coaching, even when rain stops play outside

LESSONS IN CRICKET AND IN LIFE

Every City Cricket Academy coach is qualified to England & Wales Cricket Board standard (Levels 1 to 4). Our senior coaches are former international and first class cricketers. This depth of coaching ability and experience helps nurture the talent of your young cricketers. Their time in England as individuals within a tight-knit group also helps enhance their life skills. We want every person that comes to CCA to have a positive experience, feel welcome and part of our cricketing family and most importantly to enjoy the game and the UK

CCA has gathered an experienced coaching team to help your young cricketers to understand and gain new skills and techniques in every aspect of the game as well as to enjoy its spirit, sportsmanship and camaraderie

Importantly, we also make sure everyone has an enjoyable experience with us Every coach and member of staff at CCA is friendly, welcoming and approachable and will do everything to make your stay in the UK beneficial and memorable.

Most of our senior coaches were former professional or first class cricketers.

Many of us still play at a very high level and many of our young coaches are looking to take their talent into professional cricket in the near future During your tour our coaches will:

• Ensure every coaching session is interesting, valuable and rewarding.

• Show your group how techniques can be adjusted and improved.

• Explain the importance of fitness and a positive mental attitude

• Want to see your players gain a new dimension to their game. Using insight and experience that’s only available to a select few at the top end of the game, they offer coaching and inspiration that will help your young cricketers stand out and stand tall

We have former international and first class cricketers as guest coaches covering batting, bowling, spin bowling and wicket keeping

We also have specialist fielding coaches, fitness trainers

CCA’s facilities are worthy of the expertise of our coaches and have been used by various Schools, Counties, Professional Cricketers and many more since the Academy first opened

Your cricketers will enjoy a completely professional set-up and approach to coaching We do everything to provide one of the finest cricketing experiences available to young players that want to take their game to the next level

RAISING YOUR PLAYERS’ GAME

CCA has a six-lane indoor facility, so the famous English summer weather won’t stand in the way of the cricket We’ve followed English Cricket Board guidelines to ensure the playing surface and lighting are up to first class standard

Our state-of-the-art coaching resources also includes bowling machines, video analysis system and all modern gear for cricket

What’s more, our partnership with Hinckley Town Cricket Club allows us to benefit from their magnificent playing facilities. Hinckley’s ground has hosted first class cricket in the past and is now used regularly by our junior and senior teams. We also have a very good working relationship with Leicester Grammar School and the University of Leicester where we have been running our summer camp and cricket tournaments for more than 10 years. They have fantastic facilities and it’s ideal for matches

A CRICKET TOUR OF ENGLAND TO REMEMBER

A tour to CCA in England offers each member of your group a fantastic cricket coaching experience They also get a taste of the UK that will prove hugely beneficial if they visit this country again in the near future, for example, as part of their university education

At all times, our aim is to provide top quality cricket with a focus on developing talent through expert English Cricket Board coaching and matches We take them through all the major areas of cricket, including the technical, tactical, mental, lifestyle and physical attributes needed to produce a well-rounded cricketer.

As part of the tour, your group can look forward to experiences such as:

• Expert ECB coaching by specialist bowling, batting and fielding coaches, including international and first class players;

• Specialist fitness training, focusing on strength and conditioning for cricket;

• Matches against City Cricket Academy teams, local schools and clubs

• A two-day match to experience playing test cricket in England (upon request). This is an authentic taste of the summer game in England, an experience of English conditions and a new dimension to your players’ technical and mental approach to cricket

Our coaching is professional and purposeful but the way we do it is to make sure everyone enjoys, makes friends and takes home fantastic memories

INTERNATIONAL RESIDENTIAL ACADEMY

This is a programme for individuals or small groups

We host selected young overseas cricketers for training and development at our academy These young cricketers spend between 1 to 9 weeks at our academy working with our senior and master coaches to improve their game Players undergo intensive training and get an opportunity to play lots of matches in English conditions The experience gained in the camp has helped the youngsters to perform better in their respective countries when they return. Along with the cricketer’s game the stint away from home helps develop self-confidence and self-reliance which is also very important

A TASTE OF UK CULTURE

We want the tour to reward your players with an insightful experience of both the rich heritage and culture of the UK and its strong cricketing history.

Cricket has played its unique role in the English summer for centuries. The Laws of Cricket were codified for the first time in 1744 and then amended thirty years later. Sometime after 1760, bowlers began to pitch the ball (instead of rolling it along the ground) and to study line, length and pace. The MCC was formed and Lord’s Cricket Ground opened in 1787. Your young players will get the chance to absorb this heritage as they play against English teams and experience the culture of the country.

• The tour includes quality accommodation.

• We take care of all logistical matters, including local transport and airport transfers.

• Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided, with a variety of choice both vegetarian and non-vegetarian.

• A trip to the home of cricket, Lord’s, is a must for your tour, as well as other wonderful sights around the UK. CCA will challenge your group’s cricketing abilities, but we will also find time for fun, relaxation and cultural reflection; we want to ensure your players grow as cricketers and individuals after the experience.

Remember, at all times they are supervised closely and looked after with vigilance and care. We place great emphasis on First Aid support, and a comprehensive health & safety policy which also includes an updated child protection policy.
