Wildflower Schools is a national ecosystem of decentralized Montessori micro-schools that blur the boundaries between home and school. A mother, equity advocate, and entrepreneur, Maia Blankenship is inspired by the opportunity to fully empower teachers to create liberatory, identity-affirming learning environments through the school start-up journey.

Wildflower Schools will provide students across DC with a high-quality Montessori education through intentionally small one-room schools where faculty serve as both educators and administrators. As she continues her journey to launch Wildflower Schools in DC, Maia is anchored by the belief that “every child and educator deserves to be empowered to thrive in a school community that is designed for them to live and learn freely.”
