Communities In Schools of Los Angeles (CISLA) is an affiliate of Communities In Schools (CIS), the largest dropout (pushout) prevention nonprofit in the United States.
CISLA integrates its evidenced-based model in 15 schools across Los Angeles that connects students with caring adults and community resources designed to help them succeed.
In partnership with teachers, principals, school staff, and local organizations, CISLA ensures that students – regardless of external challenges – are provided the tools to graduate high school and establish a path to real world success - college, skills and workforce training.

Inara George and Jake Kasdan Investing in Limitless Potential Award
Inara George is an L.A. native who has worked her way through many musical incarnations starting from the early 1990’s to the present. She is best known for her solo work and her many collaborations — including The Living Sisters, Merrick, and her Grammy-nominated band, the Bird and the Bee.
Jake Kasdan also grew up in Los Angeles. He is a writer, director, and producer of film and television. He is best known for his work on such films as Walk Hard, Bad Teacher, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, and Jumanji: The Next Level and television shows New Girl and Freaks and Geeks.
Together, Inara and Jake have committed their time and resources to various causes, including education, COVID19 relief efforts, health care, arts education, environmental justice, and promoting gender and racial equality.

Founded in 2018, This Is About Humanity educates others on being allies and advocates through its' proximate trips to the border and fiscal sponsorship fund at the International Community Foundation. The organization supports individuals with essentials for living, access to legal services, mental wellness checkups, and other shelter projects. They also provide a range of projects, including educational bus trips to the border, donations to legal services, construction projects at shelters, and material goods for unaccompanied minors.
